But that’s exactly the thing. YOU might not care or want that exact package combo, but that doesn’t mean the market doesn’t. It’s not a niche appeal, tbh, I think 90% of people when shown identical avants one Ti, one vanilla, would prefer the look of the Ti one.
Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not worth the premium for some/most people in the market. Particularly as these cars get older, the price gap between a common example and a “special” one grows disproportionately. You don’t have to like how the market works, but it does work that way.
Different and rare doesn’t equal desirable, you’re correct. A lime green Avant with pink interior is different and rare but definitely not desirable. Everything the Ti package adds is generally viewed as desirable and attractive. IE it’s worth the premium for many. Same with the B6 Ultrasports.
