Nice find! Looks really clean, as long as they are taken care of those can be great cars (if not economical on the gas mileage front). One thing to consider is carbon cleaning at that mileage.

    Much Thanks!

Yes indeed. It is on the list with the intake spacers to be done at once. Previous owner 6K ago did an intake clean with PEA additive and I just did it again last night. Hoping to "maintain" until I can get the full clean done. However from the butt dyno I have a feeling there may be low on carbon buildup.

At the same time I plan to do SAI delete as well. Worthless SAI

i had an e60 m5 with v10 and the sound it made was glorious. nothing compares to v10 sound.

The S6's definitely sound like they don't Rev as high, they're more of a throaty note (subtle gallardo ish noise?)

I'm looking at getting into an S6 in a few years once I've squeezed the last drop out of my A6. Not gonna be another chance in the future to get a N/A 10 cylinder German sleeper sedan.

I've heard they're decently reliable, aside from a few things like carbon cleaning

I concur, they are deep rumble above 4K or low revs rubmlies if you are lugging it. I wonder how cat removals would sound "subframe drop :| "

Was able to finally get to the rear rotors this weekend. Worse than I thought, I put 400 miles on the car this way:

    OLD:

    NEW:

    Replaced:

Then figured lets see how the oil looks, Obvious Car Abuse. This is after the second flush after just 10 miles (11 Qts), plan on doing several Rotalla T6 flushes before I move to my A3/B4 fluid..

Trying to determine if I need:

    4F0807285K1QP

    OR

    4F0807285BL1RR

...On ECS they both say they fit ALL the S6 models but there is confusion about 2009 model year split. Also the brackets on my old cover appear to more closely resemble 4F0807285K1QP

Oil is cleaning up. This is the 2nd flush after 55 miles.

Within the next 100 miles will be another PEA treatment, oil filter and then another oil flush.

Looking good, I have been following this as I have been thinking about picking one of these up. There is a '07 S6 with 126K and they are asking 12K, just need to save a bit more and I can pull the trigger on it.

What Bluetooth adapter is that? Can you skip the songs (next/previous) on it through MMI?

Yeah that’s what I figured. I mean 2500 is pretty reasonable for what they are.

I agree. The brembo GT starter kit is around 4500!

The calipers are used at $800 shipped from member V8A6, little banged up but I dont care, the OEM brembo seals were in great condition.

Discs were $1300 shipped from UK including duties. + Misc bs like pads and some trial and error fitment expenses

Now I am determining what do do about the rear. I want to keep the 330mm size so I dont add weight. I have an idea in mind, and hoping to get the same grooving on the discs as the fronts.

My stock S6 front 385mm setup will be for sale as well. Havn't listed it here yet tho

Took the tires off and cleaned out the rats nest and all the old oil and shit off the bottom, removed fender liners and belly pan. Quite dirty

Pic of the rotors broken in. ~2mm on outside and inside of rotor as it should be

Last, test fitment of the stockers. I was able to spin the wheel and they cleared the calipers so I am confident in running these next winter and then finding some nice forged 19s for the track as well.

Love that V10 sound during the autocross.
Nice respectable times compared to what you were up against.

Beautiful car. Anything else to update with this?
    Because S4 = Hooker
Both can be purchased for cheap, and after one night of reckless, risky fun, either can be found lifeless on the side of the road. Your family is disappointed and concerned once they find out you've picked one up. Not to mention you try to hide how much money you routinely give one from your significant other.

I like your signature, shared it with my GF, she didnt understand but by buddies do lol

Im not sure where to start! Sorta started with my friend coming over for a paint correction, clay bar and seal ~ 25-30 hours and escalated from there.

I sorta went open wallet style and did everything. Oil leak, new IM, JHM stuff, new injectors, painted the whole front of the car. Ill update when I have some consolidation on all the work, the list is large. Hoping to complete the carbon clean tonight

Paint correct w/ all Adams compound and pads

    Complete; "shine like a diamond"

Then all the bumper pits n such really stood out:

Sure Does. Hey I was thinking about those TSW Nurenburg wheels also, how do you like them? What offset are you running, you were able to find the 5x112s?

Lets not forget about this trash lol.

I love them. I went with 5x112 19x9.5 with a 53mm offset and the factory sized 265/35/19. I like the look of them sitting just inside the fender lip. I have less than a finger width of space between the widest part of the tire and the upright in the front and about 2mm of clearance between the tire and shock dust cover in the rear. I was worried about caliper clearance, but there is a ton of room between the spokes and the calipers so they should clear those RS6 brakes no problem.

If you do 20's you'd have less clearance in the front since the upright starts to curve back towards the outside of the car as you go up. And more clearance in the rear as the shocks are angled in as they go up.

My stepson works at Discount Tire so I got the employee discount. No problems sourcing them other than TSW said they wouldn't fit.

Since the pics I picked up Audi emblems for the cenetercaps.

Yes I like the brushed face, I was considering style as well.. Did you see a nice improvement in driving dynamics with the LW wheels?

I was also starting to lean towards 20s also for the look of the larger wheel and likely cheaper tires haha. I would probably also go w/ 265s as well so I can lower the car an inch or so. That is stock ride height I am assuming?

If you lowered do you think you would rub anywhere? Those are the Conti DW ?

There was a noticeable improvement in handling, but I went to the lighter weight wheels and switched from Blizzaks to the Continentals. So it’s hard to know how much difference was from each. Tires are Continental ExtremeContact Sport. I think that’s the new DW.

    Yes that’s stock ride height.

I don’t think an inch would rub. But... if you do 20 with 265 you’re going to have to run less offset to clear the front upright so that might affect rubbing. Hartmann recommends 255s with their 20” rims.

Here’s more of a level side shot so you can see fender clearance. (You can also see the Audi centers)

Thinner tires = less weight haha

I would love to try and squeeze a 265 in there but as you know all the manufacturers have different dimensions even if the size is labeled the same. I've noticed the Contis are wider than the average imo. Thanks for the pics. Any plans to lower it or is it already bumpy enough?

There’s sooo many variables with tire width such as manufacturer, wheel width, aspect ratio, etc. Makes it very difficult to get it just right when the clearance is so tight.

No plans to lower. This is my daily driver and I put 100 miles a day on it. I’m very happy with how it drives and I don’t want to mess with it.

Wheels look good. Classic audi style. They are on the "list" haha

Yes, the car is already so stiff as is, but it is tall and top heavy esp w/ the sun roof, would like to give it a more aggressive look but not compromise normal ride quality ya know

I hear ha... I might look into lowering after I autocross it next month. We'll see how that goes.
