    Hi guys
Just wondering if you know of any engine differences between the two years?
I had someone tell me yesterday the there were changed made from the 07 to the 08.
    Is this true?

    Thanks

I mean its direct injected im sure they didnt change anything. Maybe he meant from S4 to RS4 its different since S4 is port injected.

Just had a look at ETKA and there’s no difference in part numbers for the ‘07 and ‘08 RS4.

This is partially true.. the engine is essentially the same, however there is a VIN split in 2007. They made changes to odd things and it only effected certain part numbers.

The engine shield for example is different.. the mount points were changed slightly and the mold is different.

I ran into this issue on a few different part numbers when sourcing parts for my build. The BNS block was post VIN split and I remember there were a few different parts where this mattered.

I can’t recall if the injectors were the same, though i would suspect they are.

Apologies to the OP, my morning coffee hadn’t kicked in. There was a VIN split on 20 March, 2007 but I can’t see what VIN the change took place at.

Split happens at 7N900410. 2007-a cars are 7N900409 and lower, 2007-b cars are 7N900410 and higher. They had minor interior changes, so safe to assume some small changes in mechanical components as well.
