Well since i have photos i guess ill now share what I've been doing. While im more on the facebook pages i figured I'd share my adventure here.

I've had the car for a year now and enjoyed it every day. Got it with around 89k miles and when the motor was pulled it was just shy of 100k.

IMG_3374 by tj bradney, on Flickr

I did get to enjoy doing the timing on the motor along with a clutch kit and valve seals. Motor just kept drinking oil at weird amounts. Still not 100% sure what it was since i ran a leak down test and scoped the cylinders every cylinder was in a the "middle" of the gauge for acceptance and scoping didnt show any thing worry-sum but oh well.

I pulled the trigger on an RS4 BNS swap around two months ago and got hooked up with the right people to where it took no time to get a motor and 85-90% of the parts id need for the swap to happen.

IMG_3756 by tj bradney, on Flickr

The car is with AV auto workz up in Wilmington DE and they hands down are doing a fantastic job and we're hoping ill have the car back this week if not the following Monday. This is obviously by no means the normal swap we all plan to see but i just had a problem of what route i wanted to go and Quintin will be sure to let everyone know i couldn't figure if i wanted to build a BHF and turbo let alone how much of the motor to build. So the RS4 swap was suggested and it made most sense to me since the motor will handle all the power ill ever want in the future. I dont have anything else to say so ill just post a few more photos i have of parts

Cool project! I can't wait to see the final product. I just moved to DE in October, and used AV autoworx on the recommendations of several local Audi guys and I couldn't be happier with their work. James has a bunch of insanely cool projects going on and runs a great shop!

Btw, I was at AV today to drop off some wheels that need some refurbishing. I had a quick glance at your car. Man...that Sprint Blue is so sexy!

Nice! I guess there are a couple of us down in the MOT area. I don't drive the car as often as I want. Maybe once a week if I'm lucky. I'm usually in my allroad or my wife's t-reg. I hear there is a Cars and Coffee every first Sat of every month in the Acme parking lot. Have you ever been?

Got a few videos today of the car running and idling. Needs to go to the exhaust shop to have my Corsa Catback mated with the RS4 downpipes. Then off to get programmed to let the RS4 cluster work in the car and she'll be done and ready for pick up friday

Hey TJ, is there a standardized list of what is required for the BNS engine to go into the S4? I know for sure ECUx2, Wiring Harness, and Battery Relocation. But what other parts/knick knacks are required to properly drop an BNS in?

So from what i know ive bought ill make a list so you know.
List will differ depending what all is on the engine you buy.

    Both ECU's
    Battery relocation
    Engine
    Exhaust manifolds and down pipes
    Flywheel,clutch and pressure plate
Oil Cooler (OEM is 2200, Forge makes one for 1100)
Low Pressure Fuel Pump, Along with module. ( from my understanding it requires "custom" wiring into the harness.)
Cluster (if you choose, will require the coding of some sort since the cluster has an immobilizer in it that wont let it work unless fixed)

I know there is more but its all in what your motor has if you have dont have anything on it but the block and heads you'll need all that jazz. Solid note everything from S4 swaps over as for alternator and that aside from Water pump/tstat and the Belt tensioner .

If youre looking into this and doing it on your own, Id make sure you have everything lined up like having the ECU immobilized and if you do an RS4 cluster then making sure they can do that also once its all together. Id say theres a bunch that have done this so maybe someone else can chime in but with what ive seen as a handful doing this i cant say that lol. Any questions i can help with i will but since i didnt do all the work i cant answer it all.

Love this thread. Why is battery relocation required?

Since RS4 motors have 2 ECU's the second ecu goes where the battery is

IF you look where the battery would be youll see the second ecu

I thought that's what it was (zoomed in on that pic earlier before posting the question). And the reason that ECU can't be relocated (instead of the battery) is due to the RS4 engine harness, I assume?
