    Reverse lights upgrade

So I upgraded my reverse lights to some leds. Only ordered them because they say error free. Well I got the error smh. Anyway I can change this? Any bulbs you guys know of that you don't get an error? Do I just have to code it off? Definitely a big improvement either way.

+1 I've tried all the bulbs from Amazon and eBay and they all gave me an error. deautokey bulbs were the only ones that didn't give me errors. Hhttp://deautokey.com/product/audi-b6...or-free-bright

Great company! And stands by it's product! I bought the interior LED bulb set, reverse LED bulbs and also the front turn signal LED's and I had some issues with of few of the bulbs. They sent me brand new sets with no hassle!

Does that coding completely bypass the reading or does it lower it to the energy used by the leds? I want white fogs and that's where the difference in price bothers me $30 regular leds vs. $100+ from deautokey. Any idea if carista has this feature? ( i haven't invested in a diagnosis tool yet but I'm leaning towards carista because I'm a apple guy)

its just bypasses the error code.

Talking about the fog lights, I ended up using $13 leds with resistor I picked on ebay. No errors, works well. Although, they could be a little bit brighter and they throw more blueish (~6000k my guess) color than DRLs, but does look better than traditional halogen bulb.

Carista doesn't have this feature. You have to use VAG-COM

You can use resistors, but don't be in reverse for more than two minutes

Thanks, I'm assuming you used Vagcom for the fog light coding as well? Can you PM me if possible the specifics of it. I may just go for vagcom.

i've got LED's on my reverse bulbs i got from superbrightleds.com, i guess it has a resistor or w/e built in but it's definitely error free, says it too on the website. didn't have to do any coding or anything else just plug and play.

Tag light coding is not needed. The problem is, with reverse lights, our vehicles are not supposed to be using LEDs. The other problem is that's what everyone wants to run. I coded mine out and it's really easy. Personally I used a VAG-COM..
You're first going to go to your central convenience control module, which is number 46.
Afterwards you're going to go into Security Access (16). Input the code of 16017 and select Do It! This is going to allow you to make changes in the control module that you can't do by just clicking check boxes.
Afterwards you're going to go into your adaptations (10), then go into channel 181 and select read. If I remember right, I had to type that in. You're next going to go into the "Value" box and instead, change that to 62463, click "test" then "save".
Close everything out, there may be a little pop up box and hit yes. Finish closing everything out, turn the vehicle off and back on, next time you shift into reverse, there should be no error code! Don't be skittish, it isn't going to change anything but telling the vehicle that you're using LED bulbs instead of halogen.

i have LED reverse lights and LED fog lights. reverse LEDs from superbrightleds.com and fogs are the Sirius brand ones from Amazon.

both work great, no errors at all, no vagcom or coding needed. just get the ones that have the resistors built in and say "error free", havent had any issues with those and don't need the hassle of the coding part.
