My only ideas are, a bad or faulty axle, maybe you have a refurb that doesn't have the same extension as an oem. My axles are not maxed or stressed out in any way. Also when I jack up the vehicle the suspension sags maxing out the length/travel from the cv trans cups to the hub, I'm getting full sag till resting/snagging on the swaybar (the standard).

Or the worst case (for you) is the transmission was too shifted too much to one side when you made your mounts, might explain your shifting issues too.

    6.5"

Pop your hood, to your right (drivers side) measure from the frame rail to the ~flat side of your transmission case. The flat side of the trans case will be the ~only flat spot, located ~4" above the axle boot being ~3" above the metal axle sheild (if using one). You'll see all the penny sized star bolts, measure between them, flat spot of trans case to rail is 6.5"

    B5 01X and 02X Conversion Thread

Hoping to add some additional information to the thread soon. I purchased a euro TDI 01X from https://www.korwerksllc.com/collections/transmissions in New York. Chris is a great guy I’d 100% purchase stuff from him again. I have a prefacelift b5 so I picked up a set of b7 uprights for cheap. For those who tried contacting v70r I haven’t heard back from him in a few months. He does not manufacture the cross members his buddy does. Chris from korwerks has some friends in manufacturing/fab so I’m hoping we can work together to make a few cross members. I’m also running a megasquirt and have mocked up a circuit to convert the VR signal from a wheel speed sensor to a hall sensor signal input in the board. I believe if I use two wheel speed sensors with megasquirt I can use traction control which may be cool to mess with. I can provide a diagram once I work out the kinks and test it in car. My block and head are at the machine shop so hoping to have the car back together with the b7 01x by august hopefully.

For anything but a C5 Allroad, too much material needs to be removed to be able to use a modified OEM one without welding/reinforcement. In the C5 Allroad, the 1 inch subframe spacers give enough space to use one, with adapter brackets to mate up the 4 auxiliary bolt holes.

Ive seen the build thread of the allroad. Sadly that's not my case.

People are saying too much material but I have sent a single picture of how much is needed to remove. If re welded once the extra material is removed I don't see how it wouldn't hold.

To answer my own question. This is how much is needed to remove to fit.

I am SO glad I found this thread. I have a 2000 B5 A4 Avant with the 1.8T and earlier today secured an 02X transmission for $100.. honestly can't wait to start getting this done... is there any chance you guys are still making the mount? Could I buy one from you if I can?

Ultra Performance Engineering in the UK make a trigger wheel and VSS bracket that solves the speedo problem when swapping to 01X or 02X transmission.

    Thanks!

Plug and play (bolt on), utilizing the oem 3 pin bosch connector, requires 2 kits:

    1 )https://www.ultraperformance.co.uk/0...s-trigger-ring
    and
    2) https://www.ultraperformance.co.uk/0...sensor-bracket

What I ended up using as of ~2.5+ years ago, as this didn't exist then, and/or didn't know about it:

    1) Dakota GPS Speedo unit: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/d...hoC-JcQAvD_BwE

After said and done basically the same price.

Another alternative is 3d printing a trigger and sensor mount. That's why I did
