Cycling, B6's, and House hunting have all my time and more.

Plus.....I'm in the process of picking up a 2002 TT225 for the wife as of today...

so that'll only help my situation.

Hopefully your wife doesn’t end up like my mom. We got her a tt225 same year. Replaced all sorts of hard to get to shit took forever, she hit a deer and totaled it like a week later lmao

She's daily driving a Tiguan, so the TT is going to be her fun project car now. She used to have a MKV GTI but it was breaking, and we needed something reliable, since my only car at the time was a show car MKV GTI.

So its just to get back into something a little more fun. plus....1.8t, "Quattro", Audi....it just seems to make sense.

Finally ended up cleaning the rear diff cross-members, so they're getting blasted, and ready for paint. I'll sooner than later do the diff seals, but while I'm there I'll have the side cover, and nose off for cleaning, blasting, and paint as well.

Not much of an update, but I'm at least thinking about working on it again.

I thought about ordering parts for mine, but I bought a Quickjack instead. Tool investments are better. Id like to drop the rear subframe and clean the entire underbody of mine as well as the driveline.

Slowly but steady you will get this done. Having things blasted and then painted will be awesome. Keep it going

Pressed the bushings out of the rear diff support.

Started painting the door blades on the B6, faulty can of clear fucked everything up.

Was going to press the new poly bushings in, and paint the stuff for the diff, but I stopped working on cars for the weekend after I became irate.

    Still nothing.

    How's that for an update?

Working with Tyler on getting a rust free rear sub frame. Once I get that, I can start pressing new aluminum bushings into that, get it blasted, and painted before replacing my rotted one.

I need to get this B5 rolling again. The wife, and I are house shopping, so I need it to be able to roll on to a trailer to bring it to the house (god willing) when we get one.

Having the car at my own house, and not a hour away at my parents house will help immensely with progress.

    Carry on....I still own it.

You'll get it together soon enough. Having the car apart and looking at houses is complicated. I'm hoping to get my front end back together and get it running before I start anything else. I'll end up doing the rear like Im doing the front, but it'll be a bit.

The B5 got a wash, since it's been sitting for years. We're in the process of buying a house, so I need to get off my ass and get this thing into a roller to get on a trailer. Getting the car to the garage at my own house is going to help a lot with progress. Other than the lack of money because of the house....hmm.

Bet you thought there was an update....nope.

Bought a house with a garage, so once I can get the thing to roll, I'll be able to trailer it to the garage for updates.

Trying to work on a car an hour away sucks...especially with no motivation.

Damn, I saw the new post pop up in my subscriptions and thought there was an update. You got me, lol.

I can understand the difficulty working on a car an hour away. My parents garage is really the easiest place to get really work done, but that's 3 hours away for me, so it has to be a weekend project sort of thing.

    I knew I'd get someone.

I need to hit up Tyler soon to get the subframe over. Then solid bushings, brake lines, and probably control arms. But that'll also get me waaaay closer to the finish line.

Seeing Dewaynes progress on his rear subframe is really putting a fire under my ass.

Got to keep that fire alive. That was the first time I touched the A4 since I moved. Unfortunately when I began to work on it, the rear lug nuts werent tight, messing the paint up on my calipers during the move

Finally started doing some things to the boat anchor.

My father is helping me get this front subframe pained up finally. We also started on the rust free rear strut mounts I have already blasted (thanks Tyler).

I also just bought a brand new adjustable IE cam gear on FB for a steal. Looks like I may actually get something done for once.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

The guy I bought the timing parts off of included a brand new IE manual tensioner kit, with a Contitech belt. I've taken so much time away from this community, I forgot how awesome B5 owners are (generally speaking of course).

I dragged my S4 Diff out from the spot at my last job where I stored it to work on (when I worked at lexus), and brought it to my current job (at Mini). I think I'm going to start pulling it apart to reseal it, after painting it.

Might as well, while they're out. I figured I'd rather do it now (even though they might not be leaking now), rather than wait until they leak while in the car.

Took the side over off the diff. It will need new bolts...luckily they all came out. Spending the day in the parts washer today, then getting sand blasted and painted.

Got the cover cleaned, and ready for sand blasting. Whenever I get the chance to go up and visit my parents

Hopefully this week I'll be able to split the front half off to do the same to.

Lol, give me a break. I have unpacked the subframe, and have it in the garage. Need to order some bushings, and get it painted to match the front, then assembly begins.

Just bought a new lawnmower, painting supplies, and 4 ceiling fans.....I'll get bushings soon.
