Carbon ceramic aren't wave rotors, only the standard rotors are wave rotors.

Aside from what I mentioned before, carbon ceramic are darker in color and appear to have a texture. Your typical brake rotors are bright and look like metal. lol

Those are not carbon ceramic brakes in the pic you provided, they're just slightly dirty wave rotors.

Here's a pic of what carbon ceramic rotors look like. Notice the carbon color and texture (texture may vary)

Is that your car? Nice color, same as mine (Grey Daytona Matte Pearl right?)

I also notice that your car has the glossy ppf at the bottom-rear of the front 1/4 panel and also the bottom-front of the door. Mine does as well. I am getting that swapped out for matte ppf when I do the entire front of my car.

My stupid questions...Why can I not get smooth/blank brake rotors for my '17 RS7? I live in Southern California, we don't get enough rain to need drilled/slotted rotors, which are the worst rotors to buy here. For me, in a place that gets so little rain all they do for me is wear and warp prematurely.

I am guessing it it because there are so few of these cars around that aftermarket manufactures do not find it economically feasible to produce a blank rotor.

I work from home and do not do much daily driving, but I have never seen another RS7 on the road. In fact I have only ever seen 1 RS5.

You gotta remove the rear vents and pull back the rear trim to access a bolt that holds the center armrest. You don't have to take out the whole center console fortunately.

Just follow the first 6-7 pictures. The rear vents are a little hard to take out though and require a fair bit of force.

I have a 2004 Audi A6 4.2 Quattro, my intake manifold actuator arms have broken off and also are frozen in one spot. They will not move with engine off by hand at all. Long story short.. I’m looking for a “used” intake manifold. Anyone know where to find one? I’ve look in all the “normal places” no luck

Depends on part but 99% of the time there is no coding required.

I own a Audi A7 2015 (prefacelift) imported from USA. Is it possible the car was purchased without AUX input? or any other input whatsoever? :( I do have a slot (Audi music interface) within the glovebox, but the slot itself is empty.

Tried launch control for the first time in my S6. Built up the revs and let off the brake. It hesitated for a second before setting off and once I got going the shifts (sport mode) were fairly hard shifts.

Is this normal?

PS: car is still fully stock. 2016 S6 with 36k miles.

That slight hesitation is normal on the oem tune. If you get an APR tune for instance that hesitation disappears and the car launches quicker and harder.

I tried launching my car for the first time a couple of weeks ago and and noticed the slight delay between letting my foot off the brake and when the car actually started moving. It's like Audi programmed a soft launch in the tune so you don't break stuff. I know with a tune it goes away.

This has been a fun read. Thanks for all those who have contributed. I will admit, through this, I learned about the foot-swipe-trunk-release on my C7 S6. Who knew? Not sure how much I’ll ever use it, but I’ll probably try to make my wife (a Q7 driver) jealous with that trick.

I also learned how to finally get auto start / stop working. I hate that thing so it’s nice to be in an S6 so I can just leave it disabled. But I did want to figure out how to make it work if I wanted to... I guess I’m just a control freak.

Also got me some bitch’n S6 badge puddle lights for all four doors.

Next up is the APR tune when this lockdown breaks in Chicagoland. Have a good holiday (in the US) weekend (everyone).
