Recently purchased a 2000 A6 2.7T 6 speed, looking to adjust hand brake

Hello! Recently I've sold my B6 A4 and was planning on getting a truck. Then decided I would miss the Audi world so I decided to buy another and ended up with a C5 A6 2.7T. It needs some work and the first thing I would like to take care of is the fact that the hand brake needs to go sky high in order to use it.

I've googled and tried to search on here and can't seem to find a DIY that shows me how to adjust it. I did find that the adjusters are in the rear of the car going through the arms. I crawled under the car last night to check them out and I'm just not sure how to go about adjusting them.

Can anyone possibly give me some insight on how to adjust them? Please don't grill me if this is something simple! I try not to ask simple or stupid questions so this will probably be the only one!

Pics of my recently sold A4 and the A6 for fun

Also curious about this if someone else has some direction. Is it adjustable at the handle or just under the car?

I would also like to know about this. Mine has enough play and pull on it that it triggers the light but doesn't actually brake

I've had this same issue on my B5.
It turned out that the brake spring mechanism on my driver side at the rear brake was seized (goddamn salt on our winter roads in CT). I sprayed some CLP on it to loosen it up, worked it with a pair of pliers and now it no longer binds.
I'd inspect the spring mechanisms on both sides to see if one or both are seized.
It may be as easy as that.

One of mine was frozen and I removed the cable off it. Now it's acting as described above
