Wait until after winter to install spacers? CT Resident

    Hey guys,

Would it be worthwhile to wait until after salt/sand season to install spacers? I've heard of the horror stories of them sticking, or is this avoidable if some anti seize is put on the hub/spacers regardless of season?

Really want to put the ECS spacers on the car so the peelers look even better on the car

I think you should be fine with them, only reason to not recommend them would be the fender clearance in bad snow. But you should be fine in CT.

I also wouldn't put them because salt, sand and gravel will get kicked up a lot more, and spacers make it easier for it to get kicked up to hit the fender rather than the fender liner. I do put 3mm spacers on in the winter but that's only to clear my brakes, and yes you should use anti-seize.

I just removed a set of 10mm ECS spacers which had been on the car since ~May 2016 and one of them was a bitch to get off. I did not use anti-seize when I installed them but would highly recommend doing so.

Spacers are generally just... janky. Best to get wheels with the offset you want and use the OEM lugs.

Many people run flush fit spacer kits with their factory wheels to achieve a better look, they have been proven to work just fine. With that being said I would skip running them on the winter wheels to avoid extra wear/tear on the fenders/rockers/quarters from salt and sand.

I did Alzor 18" rotor replicas in ET45 for my winter setup so they were actually tucked in more, I know that the look is less than desired vs ET35 but with the wheels tucked in more there is better protection against shit being thrown up on the car. On my stock 19" peelers (summer setup) I run 10mm rear/5mm front flush fit spacers and it really makes the car look better.

I have the ECS "aggressive" flush kit spacers on my car still running with factory 2014 Black Optic OEM Rotors on Michelin PSS. However when it comes time in a few weeks to swap over to my Blizzak/Peelers setup, I will be removing them. I prefer to have snow, ice, sand, and gravel kicked up into my fender liner rather than my paint. And for those who doubt this - yes - 10mm/12.5mm does make that much of a difference.

About to put my winter wheels on and was going back and forth on this for awhile. Decided to leave spacers off for winter setup
