I racked up quite a few miles on the S6 this year with road trips so had been thinking about buying a beater for around $2k for the winter and that sprung up locally.

You did not come to the right place to get talked out of that.

I definitely want a D2 driver at some point. Small dream to pick one up for a few hundred with a bad trans, 6-speed swap, RNS-E with bluetooth, wheels, coils and muffler delete and call it a day!

That is a super solid car and they go for so cheap. Great value for money!

My opinions on the a8 are torn. I find some qualities of their build quality "A4 ish" while others are nicer than a c5. Lots of additional do dad s that like to fail and cause warning lights. I do enjoy the fact that they weight the same or less than a c5 a6.

On this particular one, those tan seats are pretty pimp and from what I have seen the D2 seats are usually never in poor condition...

I would try and get it much much cheaper than 2500 being that the transmission is a ticking time bomb. Could blow out on the test drive for all you know.

Looks like a deal to me, that interior combo . My mother drove a D2 for many years until the transmission bit the dust. Always loved that car!

D2s are awesome and everyone should own one in their lifetime and possibly maybe sorta mod one too
