3 inch exhaust system is terrible for a4. Honestly 2.5 str8 through perhaps make it 3" at the tip?'

I have a 3 in on my 1.8t. It's fine. It was half the price of the 2.5". You'll probably have to have a custom one made. Idk of any exhausts for the v6.

You can lose the whole day discussing 2.5 or 3". Totally pointless. "A theory without facts is a fantasy..."

Show me direct comparison with real life data on 2.5 vs. 3" on a TURBOCHARGED car.

P.S. Just realized the author asked for a supercharged engine. Data from turbocharged cars could not be extrapolated here.

If he's supercharged then I would assume bigger is better. More air in, need to get more end out. And how many times are you in the low end of your power band when on power, 1st gear, after that your above 5k rpm and low end power isn't used.

should work out just fine. anything under 400 hp shouldnt really need 3 inch exhaust. as long as there are few bends and what bends there are are mandrel then 2.5 will be just fine.

S4 exhaust fits, IIRC just needs different clamps where it clamps to the down pipes.

You just need a pair of reducers because the s4 pipes are bigger. It's loud though, got annoying real quick.

We don't happen to offer a system that fits '98s at this time, but if you do consider going the custom route, we would be happy to help you choose the correct components!
