Should my car sound like a giant vacuum under boost? (new K04s)

My little k03s blew at 150k and i threw in some k04s among other things. Now when i go into boost, everyone around me will also know im going into boost. My car starts making a really loud sucking sound. Imagine you pucker your lips like you are going to whistle but instead suck in hard. I boost just fine to 15 psi. A bit later though, maybe because of the K04s? Im thinking i have a boost leak somewhere and am having a tester for the 2.7t shipped to me. Any ideas? Im going to post a sound clip later.

Send a sound clip. Are you running stock exhaust? On my vehicle when I am boosting with my cutouts closed it sounds like a loud whistle / vacuum sound...

It does not sound abnormal to me. If you are hearing vacuum noises inside the car however check your boost line going to your gauge. Once my vac line on my meth controller was loose causing noises. In general tho your car sounds normal to me. Maybe someone else will chime in. Who is your tuner? You may want a revision for new turbo setup..

The gauge used to leak but it was fixed. And you can only hear spool and the valve with the windows up. That sound of rushing air is coming from under the hood. I was told that its a GIAC tune from the previous owner. Im gona retune it after i get some injectors. I wouldnt be surprized if there is a boost leak in there somewhere. One of the throttle body pipes blew off 2 days after the everything was bolted up and had to get a better clamp. I guess i have to live with this insane sound. I was hoping to be a bit more sleeper. :)

I think k04s on a stock tune "8psi" is close to full duty cycle of the injectors. At 14 psi i think your over your injector capacity. Julex?

Yea its in there. Intake is fully stock but for the filter and diverter valves, and the K04 inlets of course. I got my tester from turbo boost testers and over the weekend ill give it a few psis.

From the weeks i spent looking around and researching before this turbo swap i came to the conclusion that the car would behave no different if i did a k04 swap. I could be wrong but i get NO codes, not even a misfire. I did notice that the k04s would carry boost deep into the rev range where the k03s on the same software would die off around 4k-5k.

    UPDATE

Looks like the guy that did the intake piping fell asleep. The first clamp ON the compressor for each turbo was not tightened. That air rushing sound was a HUGE boost leak. Driver side was easy to get to, right next to axle. I could barely fit my tiny ratchet or even a screw driver into the passenger side after moving some piping and AC lines out of the way. Sealed it all up and now all you hear is the exhaust change tone when going to boost. And boost comes on strong and hard, my god. Turbos shouldnt be damaged by this right? Maybe 2 weeks of driving , and i knew something was off so full boost wasn't used too often.

You are fine, I doubt there was any damage.

Dont worry, you just had the boost leak of the week. Be prepared for them for the duration of owning that engine :)
