Not smooth transmission or losing traction when accelerating on steep inclines

I noticed when accelerating from 0 on steep inclines some jerking (e.g. in parking garage or merging car into traffic after waiting on steep ramp. Not sure if it is the transmission (likely) or loosing traction.
Is this normal with this car?

Hill Hold Assist disengagement is what it sounds like to me.

It's the parking brake. it engages when you are stopped on a hill to prevent the car from rolling backward. When you press the accelerator, the car will release the brake. It can be abrupt and like a jerking motion.

Hmm but HH release brakes only. No jerks only one ,,clack,, as brakes are released in forward motion, two or more jerks are not symptoms HH brakes releasing.

    I did some more testing:
    - the hill assist itself seems to work. If I release the brake the car stands still
    - the problem appear to happen in "dynamic mode" and not in "comfort mode".
    - I also made sure that the car had time to switch to gear 1 (also confirmed in manual mode).

(the car has a sports diff, if this matters at all).
