Transplanting Stage 3 Parts - What Misc Items Should I Order Now

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm pulling the K04s, inlets, and barely used clutchmasters clutch & PP off of my crashed Imola and transplanting them into the black car.
Theoretically, I have everything I need since the components are coming off of a known running car.

What should I bite the bullet on now so as to minimize downtime while waiting on potentially compromised parts?

    I was thinking:
    Exhaust/Turbo Gaskets
    Bosch EV14 Injector O-Rings
Timing belt was done lately, so that's fine
Turbo oil feed lines are braided already
I have the tuned ECU from the Imola too

Anything else that has caught guys out before?

The black car only has 70k miles and is already stage 2 with RS4 intercoolers and APR Bi-Pipe & Downpipes. Car has a full service history, so there shouldn't be too much that's risky on that end...

Just because the black car has 70K miles doesn't matter, it's still a 16 year old car and the engine has been through thousands of heat cycles. It's hard to tell before you get in there and yank the engine, but I'd expect a few bloated coolant/oil hoses and some miscellaneous fittings/connectors at a minimum.

Wile the engine is out I would replace the coolant hoses, the vacuum lines and the Engine mounts. Good luck on the project.

second that on the coolant and possibly the oil lines. the hardlines at the rear of the engine have minor leaks sometimes and a simple o-ring or new lines with engine out is so much easie. maybe look at the wastegate lines which are another PITA thing I'd do while engine is out.

I highly recommend Cinesnow's wastegate lines, they're very well made and much more robust than stock lines. You also have the added benefit of being able to pressure test each line in case you run into issues with the turbos/wastegates.

That's a great looking bit of kit, and as you said - it allows for testing of lines independently.
I'd have great peace of mind knowing something like those were on there.

I paid $270, Marc was nice enough to personally deliver them as well. If anything, the way he backs up his products alone is worth the price. I have no doubt those lines would outlast any stock lines.

Thank you for the info. Do you have any pictures of the lines? What's the cost difference between his lines and stock?

Need some info on what injector O-rings to get...
With EV-14s, do I just use new stock O-rings?

    These for example - https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_S4--2.7T/ES2618435/
Want to pull the trigger on the misc stuff today.

    Sounds good.

This "while I'm in there" list is growing.

I suppose I should wrap my DPs while I have everything out too...

On the EV14 you can use them as is, but for the best seal...

take the top oring on the ev-14, and move it down. and then use OEM injector orings on the top.
