Stage 2 and exhaust - what should I do next?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm looking for recommendations from the folks who have more experience than me. So far other than wheels I have a 034 HFC, AWE exhaust, AFE a/c, and APR Stage 2. What's the next logical thing I should do next? FMIC? Maybe brakes? Ha. Thanks for any direction since this has been my first Audi and the first tuning I've ever had done.

FMIC then a heat shield upgrade to keep it from splitting.

NOO, shouldn't be. Do a treadstone FMIC setup for $300, like many of us have. Then, you wait for a used K04 to pop up for $1500 or buy the CTS one on sale from moddedeuros now for $2000. Then, I think your tune upgrade fee is $500. Will get you there for under $3k.

Or spend 499 more for the apr k04 kit.. which includes the software since you already have stage 2....
You'll have access to the complete customer service base.
A decent brake setup wouldn't hurt as well, along with a good suspension setup and upgraded tires.. better to do that first before any turbo upgrades...

Have had no trouble with my apr front mount...works excellent!.. Very easy and straightforward install... Some may say to save 300 bucks and do a custom setup.. but then you're on your own with mounting options...

Fmic options are limited on cars with Audi drive select due to an extra cooler above the crash bar.

A Treadstone TR8 mounts perfectly below the crash bar.

I will reiterate, you can buy complete kits that range from 750-1000 bucks or if your somewhat handy and able to fab some very simple brackets, you can do it for 300. I went the treadstone TR8 way, I'm about to install next week and have 100% confidence.

I'm not doing quads, just going to leave the single side exhaust. Just wondering if I should get intercooler first or awe?

If performance, do ic first. Especially because you live down south where it can get hot. If sound, well....

Op: next best mod for you would be ic, coils, tires. In that order. Since you went stage 2, sounds like you wanted the power, make you you keep it and don't get heat soaked

Exactly this...same route I went.. and yeah single side will work.. it may be a little louder with the downpipe considering there will be just two resonators rather then 3 with the quad setup..

On the FMIC side, if you watch the classifieds you can catch a smoking deal on some of the FMIC kits with the plumbing etc. I got my Eurocode FMIC for $450 shipped and it looked like new and had the plumbing from the turbo outlet to the throttle body...
