Can your "s4" do 12.3. to 12.7 quarter miles?.....lol... .. besides not having a sport diff option , our "non performance car b8s" are pretty capable tuning wise.. .... And pretty much identical chassis and options... Don't count out modified a4s... But of course us b8 a4 owners already know this.

No need to get bent out of shape, he's got a point. A stock A4 is a 15 second car, it's slow as shit. It's not a performance car at all. If I went from an S4 to a stock A4 I'd be bored as shit too. Just like how I'd feel if I went from driving my A4 to OP's S4.

Nice production value on the vid.

I know it's meant for shits'n'giggles and yes, other than the aesthetics, it doesn't come near an S4. And yes, given a choice, 10 outta 10 of us here on the 'A' side of the fence would gladly switch to an S.

Whatever the circumstances (99% financial), we here in po'dunk A'ville! Best believe though, through many dedicated enthusiasts, have found ways to extract the most out of our 'I think it's a 2.0l turbo,..eh..' and gotten very good results as such.

Appreciate the effort and the candid review. That said, the vibe was a little condescending imo.
All good though. I mean we r keepin' it .

Thanks man. My intention wasn't to bash on the car.. Not at all. Still like the a4 a lot. It was nice to not hear the car droning on the freeway for once haha. My s4 drones for days

Lol gigantic teeth... You must have really tiny ones to think mine are gigantic but hey.. that's just me. I wish these sunglasses were cheap. Oakleys are starting to seem like a rip off. Thanks for the 1 view lol. I just do this for fun.. Not a serious YouTuber or anything.

Its a pretty denigrating review and troll-ish to drop it in the A4 forum.

I sort of expected it as soon as I read it was a loaner for your S4, but in the mere opening minute you already seem to be condescending and the message I received through your verbal and non-verbal communication was "yeah I know this isn't as good as my S4, but I'll review it anyway". I mean this to be constructive, that's just the way you came across.

Giant Oakleys didn't help either. In fact I was like "I bet this guy drives a white S4" because that'd just be perfectly stereotypical.

    but anyways..

ill just remind myself that when i get the 400 hp ttrs and go in for service, to not go into another board and let people know their car is lesser than mine. then again, i appreciate all audis from new to old.

Surprise about the complaining of OP video,he's doing it just give his own impressions about the car but he is comparing apple to oranges though and his glasses are too big for his head.Just saying.Never insult A4 owners unless they have a front wheel drive one then you are allowed.

But..gotta say I hadn't seen Oakleys like that since the '90s!

Hey op, next time, ask the dealership why you couldn't get an S4 loaner then post a vid reviewing said dealership and their loaner program. NEXT

I just scanned through the video, but it seems the overall impression is that it's a nice car, but not thrilling to drive in stock form. I don't think many of us would disagree with that, being that many of us are mod overloaded to add performance.

I feel "meh" when I drive a stock A4 compared to my car, so I can imagine it being more so from an S4.

Id love to replace my A4 with an S4, but my A4 cost me around $60,000... An S4 would set me back around $100,000+++.

When I move out of this shit country that makes me pay customs like that, I'll get the r8 screw the s4. Lol

i doubt they loan out s4 or any s model cars ... probably a bigger risk for them to do so. Since you didnt watch the video, here is a snapshot. I shredded my serpentine belt and got a B8.5 a4 s-line as a loaner. Really nice car aside from performance. Well equipped and all. Did a road trip to northern AZ with like 3 others in the car and it was a smooth ride. I like the car, but i guess my review came out as overly negative. I was just unimpressed by the turbo 2.0. that's all.

exactly my point. It's a good looking car.. i think even better than my S4. If it just had a little extra kick, it would be perfect for a daily. that's my opinion at least

jeez... $60k for an A4? most of us S4 guys buy ours used so we dont take a the hit with depreciation. I bought my S4 for $27k with 46k miles on it. Maintenance is a bit pricey, but other than that, i think of it as an affordable performance luxury car.

I believe DADOO isn't in the US and his price would reflect that.
I'm curious as to what dealer in AZ gave you a B8.5 for a loaner.

I purchased my first certified used A4 from Peoria, AZ Audi and had my car in for routine work and was given a brand new S6 for a loaner.
I live in KC and Shawnee Mission Audi gave me a 2017 A4 for a loaner for a full week while my 09 was in the shop. I've since traded that 09 in on a 13' A4 certified used and get the same treatment from them.
I do know that if you come in with an S4 your get a better or newer model as a loaner.

As for your review, my first suggestion is loose the crappy music. Can't stand when people seem to think their reviews need shitty ass music, I came close to just stopping the entire video over that crap.
Now for the review portion, I'm under the impression you're really not an Audi enthusiast. Seems like you have no idea what the S-Line offers compared to Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige models, you can buy an A4 Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige with Quattro and not the S-Line package and each model comes in FWD as well as Quattro.

I'd even argue that the A4 is plenty fast enough considering jonny law is out there preventing us all from speeding. Sure an S4 is faster as it should be seeing it's either coming with a V6 or V8 one should not expect the same performance from a 4cyl. Keeping that in mind the A4 is a fantastic car and you can get a certified used one fully loaded for around $25k, sure for a few coin more and a lot more mileage and maybe a few years older one can get an S4 but again, what is my gain for legal use? On top of that I've taken my A4 from KC to Phoenix and KC to New York and always get 32mpg, hows that S4 treating you on the road?

Would I prefer an S4 over an A4 sure, but in the end the cost to benefit just isn't there for me. The A4 is a great luxury sports sedan and if you've ever driven the Lexus is250 AWD you'd know the A4 is a hell of a great deal. My 2013 A4 Quattro runs circles around my wifes 2011 is250 AWD (and that has a V6).

    Personally my review is simple:
The A4 looks incredible, has a great equipment package and is plenty powerful enough for the daily driver looking for a bit more in performance than other vehicles in it's class.
It's bigger than the C class from Mercedes as well as the 3 series from BMW. When looking at what the Asian market brings to the table the is250 and 350 (same cars) are smaller and under perform, the Acura is nice and might be on par but it's still a Honda and Infinity is made to last but the cost is a bit over priced for a Nissan.

I may not be a true audi enthusiast yet, but i am an automotive enthusiast. I understand you have all the different packages and option boxes for each package. I didnt want to go that far with this "review" and that's why i called it a pseudo review. I was under the impression that the S-Line is similar to BMW's M package like the M235i. it's not a true M car, but it has the visual cues from one. Correct me if im wrong.

I didn't buy the S4 with reliability or gas mileage in mind. I just love the power it offers for the price and how small mods (ex ECU tune, etc) can drastically change how the car performs. for the local driving that i mostly do, it makes it fun.

anyways, thanks for taking the time to type out your thoughts. appreciate the comment.

I'm not looking to be rude, but I'm not so sure this was a pseudo review. You mentioned you did one before and that you'd like to do more but are busy with work.
You are entitled to your opinion of the A4 and I can see how you came to that with being the owner of an S4 but that's where reviews are tricky, you need to be objective, you can't compare an S4 to an A4, C-class or 3 series BMW - just not the same class.

I think for the class the A4 is in, it's the cream of the crop.

What I still would like to know is what part of AZ are you in? Seriously what dealer in their right mind would give an old A4 loaner to an S4 owner? Just seems like you got the short end of the straw there.
I've had S6, A6, brand new A4, brand new all roads and brand new A3's (and yes I let them know I wasn't happy with the A3 - too damn small for me and I'm not a fan of the VW looking dash, but since it's been growing on me).

See I never knew S model cars were even on the loaner car list. Although to be fair, they have given me a Audi A6 before for a loaner. The dealership is Audi of Peoria. Maybe next time, i can see if they have a list for me to choose from.

That is my favorite dealership, they always take good care of me when I'm in town and need something. The GM actually stayed on the phone with my wife while she always at the DMV in Missouri registering my car. Just incredible service.

this should have just been titled "A4 review by an S4 owner". but why's everyone so offended, it's just his honest opinion, he still had some good things to say where he felt it was deserved. if i went from an S4/or modded A4 to a stock A4, i'd feel the same, he's not going to fake the excitement. it's just a personal biased review not an official auto blog or something.
