    Fuchs Titan sintofluid

Anyone know where I can get some Fuchs Titan sintofluid 75w80 gear oil for my 01 Audi s4. I looked on advanced automotion and seems they are out of stock. Is there another place I can get some that's the same oil. If not guess I'll have to get motul. Also what would be better for the synchros the oem gear oil or the motul, if I can't find the Fuchs one. Thanks.

I got mine here, they always have them in stock for a solid price. I had the same issue finding some for my build and this is a reliable source.

Okay thanks, but wonder why it says it doesn't fit out s4. Like it says it's for Mini Cooper but is that the same thing basically the 75w80.

That's what some of us use. There is no certified Audi list since by audis standards the oem fluid lasts the lifetime of the car. We all know this is bull.

g052145s2 is what the dealer sold me. I wasn't sure so I went to the dealer to make sure I got the right stuff, was kind of upset I paid $45CAD for 1 L of it only to find out its regular syn gear oil, its for the tip center diff, front diff and rear diff, its just regular gear oil.

I bought some Fuchs from Scotty at Advanced Automotion last month. He told me even though the site said he was sold out he was able to ship it out to me.
Give him a ring and see if he could do the same. He was able to ship out pretty fast to me as well.

Ive experimented with a few different oils: motul, redline, oem, lucas, and this particular gear oil has given me the best "feel" in the shifting action.

Yes to sinto 75w80. But am running the 944 lsd. No issues/noise/binding even in -35*C winter.

I think any GL4 75w80 or 75w90 would be ideal. I'm going to be trying the redline 75w90 GL4 in the tranny for a period as I have installed new synchros and 1-2 collar.

Cool, Im running the sinto in my freshly rebuilt gearbox and so far, its been great.

Was just wondering if its as good for the rear diff or if people are running something different back there. ECS carries a sintopoid 75w-90.

Anyone know the difference between the sintofluid and the sintopoid?

Do that and you will be installing new sycros and 1-2 collars again.. Worst experience with a trans oil ever, with the possible exception of lucas on my 5spd

Interesting. What is wrong with the redline? 75w90 GL4? Not a true GL4?

    Found this post: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...il-75W90/page1

No science just word of mouth, but good enough for me. I'll use the redline for a few heat cycle and swap to Fuchs. Lots of vaseline in there as well as the debris from synchros.

The stock fluid is comparable to 70w when cold, the difference is very noticeable. Titan Sintofluid is basically identical to the stock stuff, it's not that difficult to find either, most stores that sell parts for euro cars should be able to order it.

    redline shears down too fast.

I found it very notchy, difficult to shift, and high speed shifting was also harder, in particular going into third. I dumped it out within a week. waste of money.

No, its is a trans gear oil. Any name brand 75w90 synthetic will work in the rear diff, its not fussy.

I used amsoil severe gear synthetic in both the transmission and rear end because of its high voc in cold temps and great performance in high temps, no whine. smooth shifts for 70k miles in one car and about 20k in the other so far. http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produc...e-gear-75w-90/ more on the expensive side but worth it. and meets gl4 standards

I usually find Amsoil testimonials to be painfully subjective. "My car runs so good and I feel great and the sun is shining - so what if it's expensive?? It's what my BMW DESERVES"

I appreciate you putting some qualifiers to the Amsoil claim.

Sintopoid is the new low viscosity fluid used in newer transmissions to meet emissions, it is only recommended for the audi/vw transmissions after 2006. However the transmissions themselves hasn't changed from 2006-2007.

Sinto fluid can be used for the rear diff or in any application requiring a light viscosity gear oil. However i generally use Walmart synthetic gear oil in gearboxes only as it's half the cost. Make sure to add a tube of moly additive to your rear end. Do not add the moly additive to a transmission or rear end that has a clutch type LSD.

Scotty – a few questions… AutohausAZ lists Fuchs Titan Sintofluid FE 75W Manual Transmission Fluid while rmeuropean sells Fuchs Titan Sintofluid 75W-80 Manual Transmission Fluid. Is the 75W-80 fluid the one you still suggest for the trans plus rear diff? Also, you mentioned adding a tube of moly to the rear diff, but is that only if the Walmart fluid is used, or do you also suggesting adding it if the Fuchs Titan Sintofluid 75W-80 Manual Transmission Fluid is used in the rear diff? Thanks!! - Jim

PS - as I plan on changing out the manual trans and rear diff fluid in my 2001 A6 2.7T, I was looking around for any info on procedures and torque values et. to use, and found a great video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fBcVz1El9Y.

Redline gear oil usually sucks in a transmission unless its MTL or mt-90, or NS or whichever one is for

Call it coincidence but every time inrun redline something weird happens, like it starts leaking or the diff fails (long story, car had a recall that wasnt performed but it failed weeks after being swapped with redline, it was going to fail anyways but thats a hell of a coincidence)

I stick with name brand oil all the way now, redline isnt even SAE certified, they just claim it meets its standards arguing superior base stocks costing more and certification adding too much extra cost to the product, who knows.

Why are you complicating things with Brand X and Brand XVZ ? Stock OEM fluid is synthetic castrol.....so head to your local dealer and problem solved.

I've heard in the past that the Fuchs Titan Sintofluid works well, and it surprised me when I saw the 'FE 75W' fluid at AutohausAZ, wo I just wanted to check with Scotty about what that fluid is, and if the 75W-80 fluid was still what he recommended. - Jim
