Dipstick sucks.. is it just me

Is it just me/mine or do our dipsticks suck. Doesn't matter if I'm in between changes or directly after an oil change I find it difficult to get an accurate reading off of this dipstick

Lol you got me lost there man.

    -Are you on level ground?
-after refilling during an oil change, do you run the motor for a few seconds to cycle the oil then get another reading?
-this is an obvious one but, do you wipe the dipstick before reading it?

    B5 A4 Oil Check Process

This process is designed to assist the end user in the checking of engine oil level by observing the level on the oil dipstick.

    Assumptions: End user has eyes.

    Pre-Steps.

If the vehicle has been running allow up to 10 minutes for the warm oil to return to the oil pan.

    Checking Process

    1. Park vehicle and turn engine off.
    2. Remove dipstick from dipstick tube and wipe clean using an absorbent cloth.
    3. Re-insert dipstick into dipstick tube.
    4. Remove dipstick from dipstick tube and observe oil level.
    5. If oil level observed is below the halfway point of the dimpled portion of the dipstick top off oil level
5a. Take caution to not overfill oil level.
