    fmic PLUS smic?

    Another curious question:

Can you use both a FMIC & the stock SMIC? Would it even be worth it?

so your turbo has to pressurize a FMIC, then a SMIC.

should we even start talking about the pressure drop? over spinning the turbo?

    Dang dude,

More intercooler = cooler air = better car.

No matter the turbo size nor the weather.

Haha although I AM interested, all I need to know is that those things could happen.

I doubt I'll do this, or that it's been done, I was simply inquiring because of my post #7.

For when you want your front end to just be an intercooler.

Eh, why not, perhaps if the FMIC or the SMIC were water cooled then sure

Yes, this plus water/meth and/or an intercooler sprayer IF more cooling is needed. I'm going to be installing this setup soon. I'll be mounting the tank in between the two firewalls next to the ecu box (it's a tight fit). I found a tank on eBay that fits well.

That's a cool video. I like their stuff! The pump sprayer in the cabin is hilarious.

However that spray system is ~wrong.

It'll work, yet wasteful and inefficient. If you want you can buy a full wiper washer (100% complete, tank, pump, switch, fittings, etc) for $17 shipped on Ebay. However is ~wrong.

You want and need surface area when cooling, you also want to chill the air, not just squirt water onto the IC to help displace heat after the fact. Those are "water squirters", you need to mist (atomize) the water. Use a high pressure pump, and atomization nozzles, that way you get tremendous surface volume and chill the air. Just like sitting on a patio of Starbucks when it's 110F surrounded by misters and feel fine.

Not to mention how quickly you'll go through water with that tiny tank as also spraying so much more volume. For the $17 (plus the trigger mechanism to tell if to turn on) it yeilds a return yet not proper.

I'll be building (was building) a proper sprayer system, once complete I'll post it up.

Awesome, please do share. I was thinking about better misters than those previously (like the atomization you shared), but am still learning and piecing together a kit. I will probably end up turning it off unless I'm racing someone, or am at the track. So the volume part isn't a big issue for me.

But you obviously know my pain in driving in Phoenix.
