RNS-E Faceplate?

Is the faceplate on the RNSE replaceable, and if so, how? I just pulled about 30 screws out of mine, with no luck of removing the faceplate.

Mine is broken on both sides (or a botched attempt at an install) and was cobbled back together with a some sort of felt material with an adhesive backing .

2005 allroad, part number 8E0 035 192 J. If it matters.

Have you checked the audio section? Some guys in there are pretty good, and I think there was a guy somewhere who had done RNS-E faceplate/screen replacements.

If it wernt broken I have founds some easy restoration steps to repaint the faceplate with matching soft touch finish.

Apparently it isnt broken, it seems as if it was the wrong unit, and they cobbed it together to make it look better. They failed miserably.


That being said, would anyone be willing to trace me a template using their rns-e, including a center line?

If I had not yet installed mine I would. As you know getting the wires and harness to fit behind the thing is hard. I am pulling mine in 6 weeks or so to install an av interface. At that time if you still need measurements I could do it for you
