    Random battery drain?

Hey guys, noob here, I have a battery drainage problem. I was out of town for two days and came home to a completely dead battery. The battery is only about 4 months old, and I haven't had any problems with it so far. Upon jump starting the car, the one click auto-down window switch feature no longer works. Does anyone have an idea of what this might be? I know the whole process of using a voltmeter and pulling fuses, but is there a common problem that causes this that I'm not aware of?

You sure the alternator is charging the battery in the first place? Charge it and check voltage. Healthy should be 14 and above.

Hey another guy from Scottsdale! Not sure about your problem but when my battery gets low, my one click for the windows stops working. My battery is like 3 years old though and needs to be replaced soon

CJ is correct. It will stop working until you open up all the way and close all the way a couple times (with good charge)

You probably left an interior light on.

I carry my dogs in my Avant and they've switched on the cargo light back there with their heads on a few times = dead battery.

Random is not always so random.

Otherwise, I would get out your volt meter. Radios are a common drain point - they can sometimes pull charge while the car is off even when they look shut down (no lights, display, etc).

When your battery dies, your windows need reprogramming (hold buttons all the way down 3-5s, then all the way up 3-5s) and your symphony often goes into safe mode.

    Memphis, TN for now!

Both fans working correctly on the radiator? In the winter my one fan collects ice and jams(aftermarket bumper causes it)... so when car stops and fans run it kills battery in less than 10 minutes.

Ok, so a few answers for you guys. I checked the interior lights and headlights, nothing was left on. My electric radiator fans have been on the fritz and I've been seeing higher than normal temps, but then again I live in Phoenix. My alternator is charging fine, I went to get it checked yesterday. The car starts up fine now, but the day after my original post, more crap went wrong. So, my key fob no longer works, windows, door locks, sunroof, and pretty much anything in the interior of the car. Lights dont come on when doors are open or in the trunk either. Im guessing a fuse went out or maybe a relay? Gauges work, HVAC works, all the backlighting works? WTF?

So what are your voltages? I've seen terminal wires cause drain issues. It's probably something simple.
