    flat spots between 2-3k RPM

I seem to be having some sort of issue with my b6 6 speed s4 I noticed between 2-3k under any acceleration that's it's almost pulling timing or something. I hit flat spots every 100 rpm to 3k. The car kind of bucks sometimes it's that noticeable. Rest of the Rev range seems ok. Maybe down a bit on power but seems alright.

So the first thing to check was exhaust leaks so I went ahead and listened to both passenger wheel wells for ticking sounds (catless downpipes/FI catback/JHM 91). But everything seems good and tight.

So what now bad gas maybe ? Getting ripped off at the pumps? Any way to check octane level of the gas?

Or what else could I be looking at
No check engine lights on dash, new plugs, etc. Stock chains 120xxx miles

    Thanks for your time guys

Just to update this I'm almost 90% it was bad gas. I had a quarter tank and I filled it with v power. After a little drive It seems to pull strong again without hesitation.

Now that someone mentioned vacuum leak that will be my next thing to look at. It idles perfect though.
