Just reading up a little bit on Ammo, I know everyone here swears by Adams but how do they stack up to each other? Is one better than the other?

Haven't heard of Ammo, but I'm sure it won't hurt to try them out.

While I like Adam's, I also use other folks like CG, CarPro and Swissvax. I simply like certain products from each. Obviously only YOU can decide on what products you like after trying them.

Ammo makes great stuff but it's not really much better than other cheaper products from Adams, Meguiars, collinite. Check out r/autodetailing on Reddit. They have a wiki of products, reviews, how to's etc. and the sub is full of pictures.

Honestly I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference. I don't feel one brand makes the best of everything, I have tried a lot of stuff from adams and various detailing places because I own a black car I need to be on top of things. Their car wash shampoo was top notch as well as their glaze and tire dressings, however I use only menzerna products for compounds and polishes and I use meguiars ultimate paste wax. I just ordered a bunch of McKee's 37 products as well as I am after a new "spray wax" and a new glaze for the car show preps, but I also ordered their car shampoo now as well to give that a try.

I know this forum is heavy on Adams, but in the end it comes down to what you need, the budget and how in depth you wanna get.

I used to purchase high end detailing products aimlessly trying to figure out what worked best. After trial and error, I settled on Adams for my cars. For whatever reason, it seems to bring out really good shine in the Audi paint, and seems to last fairly long. Mops got me onto it and now I only go with CG or other brands if Adams doesn't carry that application. Hit him up for a discount code, you won't be disappointed!

    Mops....

I use pretty much ALL Adams stuff but how do you like that Optimum Leather protectant? I heard good things about it on audi seats. Do you use it as a conditioner or in between clean/condition.

I use Adams and Griots. The griot products have been giving amazing results and the smell of the products are amazing! Adams also great but if I had to pick between the two griots does it for me.

Adams and Ammo are both good. Adams I use for their detail spray, Ammo I use for their tire gel. Ammo just happens to be very expensive for what it is, except for the tire gel. Adams makes a great product at a great price, plus you get the discount through Mops.

Hey Mops... I really need that detailing cart in my life...

Adams makes a good product which is easy to use... most of their stuff smells really good too.

Chemical Guys makes good product as well, their scents are good, I've used their sealant and waxes and those are pretty legit.

If you want ridiculous shine I recommend doing a clay bar with iron remover (I use autofinesse)... polish and wax it with Autofinesse illusions wax. Spray the car down and use ammo hydrate moisturizer followed by kenotek detail spray. I did that before the last show I went to... here are the results.

(this is minus all my ammo, dr beasleys, auto finesse, mothers, and kenotek products)

I have nothing but Adam's product, but I want to start giving Ammo's stuff a try. They don't sell to any retailers so I'm kind of price cautious right now since I already have car products.

Would love to start using Ammo Hydrate ($25).

So far my least favorite products from Adam's are the Wax. Not a fan of the buttery wax or the American Wax.

Has anyone had any experience with that optimum leather protectant in Mops picture? I heard it's great with our nappa seats. If so do you guys use it as a in between way to keep the seats clean & the shine down keeping the leather nice and matte? I have the Adams completed interior cleaner right now I use to spot wipe during the week from taking my kid to baseball games/practice.

I've recently bought most of Ammo's products. Became obsessed watching Larry's videos on all his techniques. His methods are to the extreme but for his clients he has to be. The price can be a little high but for what you get but the stuff lasts on the car as long as you maintain basic detailing maintenance on a weekly basis. I still need to pick up the Foam soap, Hydrate and Creme paste wax. I just clayed and polished my A5 about 2 weeks ago, then applied the Reflex and Skin right after. The feel of those 2 products together is quite amazing. I put a Meguairs spray wax on it for now until I pick up the paste wax. I wanted to wait to use the Foam and Hydrate after that's all been applied to get the full effect. The Mud Tire Gel is simply the best I've ever used. Brute wheel soap, Plum wheel cleaner and Gelee wheel protectant gets the job done as well. I've also used Lather and Mousse on the interior. The Lather smells like crisp, cleaned laundry and the Mousse revitalizes the leather smell again.

I also like that it's his own products since he's a chemist. For being a car fanatic on top of that, I don't mind supporting his business for that reason. Hope this helps.

Mine are pretty good now, I just had them done during my full detail with Adams cleaner/conditioner. I was just looking for something between cleaning & conditioning. I thought that is what the optimum did mops had pictured.

    I fucking Love Larry.

He is a down to earth dude worth supporting - and is upfront when his product is not up to par.

I remember him taking down a product because meguirs simply had something better. No bullshit. Worth supporting him when you can.

I also love Mops, but have no other affiliation to Adams other than that - have been extremely happy with their products as well. And Kourtney has a nice bum.
