    Fuel system won't prime

Ok guys i've had my b7 for about 5 months and I love it but i'm having an issue with the system not priming(extended crank) on a cold start. The hpfp, fuel pump control unit, lpfp and fuel filter are all brand new. I'm looking to see if anyone has had this issue and can point me in a certain direction to fix this issue. I have been told that it's possibly the door latch but i've had a bad latch on an audi before and there should be other symptoms. Anyone have any ideas that might help me figure this out?????

I have the same thing along with a lot of other Audi owners. I think I've concluded it's definitely a wire short somewhere. I took some voltages of different locations and when I finish school this week and have time to do anything I'm going to try and make a fuel no prime thread and hopefully figure this out once and for all. As far as I know, no one has been able to solve this and many people have replaced countless parts and still were not successful. I'm thinking it has to be caused by a shorted wire... Hopefully we can figure this out soon. Now that summer's here I'll be putting a lot more time into my car.

I haven't measured fuel pressure in any way. I don't hear the system run the pump when I open the door and the car cranks too long.

Mine runs, but very short and only after it's sat all night. Ever since I had the LPFP replaced (twice). I have gotten in the habit of just turning the key to ON for a second or so before starting it.

That's weird because I actually thought I would hear my pump come on really quickly sometimes but I couldn't figure out why it would stop. If I turn my key to the on position the car will start like normal as well
