    100 octane gas

So I don't have a tune yet but I just found a gas station within 5 miles of my house that has 100 octane pump.
I wanted to throw some In my car but wasn't sure if it would just be a waste of money cause I'm stock.
I thought I saw on APR's site that when they tested the stock ECU it dyno'd with more HP on higher octane fuel. If that's the case I wanted to give it a try, but I have been reading that cars without a tune won't be able to benefit from the higher octane fuel. Any thoughts?

Your car will run stronger on race gas, it will take a little for the ecu to adjust but then you will notice.

I have a 93 pump by my place I go to and I can tell the difference when I use 91 and I'm pretty much stock. Do it

Well just went up there, I guess they are closed on Sundays cause the pumps were locked. But they had 91, 95.5 and 100 octane, Sunco pumps. But 100 octane was $8.99 a gallon!!!!!! 95.5 was $6.99 a gallon but its nice to know when I get my tune installed I will be able to have multiple maps and have some fun with the 100 octane map!!!

Oh man. That's going to be some crazy outputs with a tune. Who are you going with?

I am gonna go APR! I was considering Giac for a minute but I just feel more comfortable with APR, (probably marketing on their part). My plan was to wait til 5K sercive but not sure I can wait that long, hahaha. I have 1,500 miles right now.

To be honest, without proper tune for 100 octane you will feel different but that's only because your car actually supports 93 octane gas from factory so anything more than 91 will give performance gain but if you compare between putting 93 and 100 gas into your tank with stock tune, you may feel some little difference but it's more likely to be placebo so putting 100 octane gas into your tank is rather wasteful. Just wait until you are getting 100 octane tune and then put the right gas into it to so that you would gain the real benefit.

Octane is there to prevent knock or pre-detonation. I.e. you would notice no difference on a car setup for premium fuel to run 93 or 100 octane. However, with a tune that increases timing advance, boost pressure, leans out fuel trims/maps, and increases variable cam overlap you will see more of a difference between 93 and 100 octane. Since you can push the engine more since you decrease the risk for detonation. That's how you gain power with octane.

There is a place near me that sells 100 octane. I pop a quarter tank of that super juice in with three quarters 91. Car runs like a rocket. It feels smoother to me, effortless as the supercharger works its magic.

We will be releasing our S6/S7 software shortly and with the ability to flash at home with our cable and a laptop or we have small HP tablets that will work as well. Anyone interested in getting a deal and being an early adopter PM or email me
