    Other options for ev14 adapters?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I have the normal ev14 adapters like these. Im wondering what other styles there are? Im looking for something that will give me some extra length so I can reroute the wires and still aim them right. Anyone know of anything like that?

Those won't work with our cars but thanks.

It's a bit harder to find ev14/6 to ev1 adapters

Thanks, do you know the correct orientation for ev14s? I think I read somewhere that they're supposed to be clocked 45 or 90 degrees from stock

Use this table to find your model. It'll tell you orientation. Read info near bottom of page:

    Orientation

Cone angle is Bosch 'α50' for dual cone, 'α80' for single cone.
Pattern angle for dual cone is Bosch 'β'
    Bend angle is Bosch 'γ'

Stock injectors are dual cone with 0° δ and have non-zero γ!

Injectors with 0° δ or 180° δ must be clocked with their connectors parallel to the block, not perpendicular, such that the dual cone is parallel with the block.

Injectors with non-zero γ and 0° δ or 180° δ must be oriented so their "bend" is oriented into the heads properly.
If my injectors are 90ºδ and 13º lambda, then correct clocking would be 13º?

You have to do some digging on here.
There's a good thread by Julex on EV14

Basically if they have the factory spray pattern you would want to have the connectors facing the valve covers which can be a pain to fit. If they are drilled injectors it doesn't matter as they don't drill with a twin or offset pattern like some of the ev's do stock.

I used some pigtails from a friend that sells them and they fit nice if you take some time routing and cleaning things up.

Sweet! I actually found some exactly like that on amazon, they'll be at my door on Tuesday, and for $42 shipped. If anyone else is looking for a set:

Connectors straight out to the sides would be ideal, but the pcv ports on the vc can get in the way of 3 and 6.
Definitely will with the 1 piece adapters, but might make it with the wired ones.

Ive done quite a few sets at near a 45 and never seen any probs.
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

With the pigtails I pictured above I was able to clock my 630cc EV14s 90degrees to the rail in order to optimize the spray pattern. They just fit perfectly

These are what my pigtails look like (the EV end). They will fit facing the valve covers, but do take some work with the harness and what not to make look nice, etc.

Yea no kidding. I've done the 45 on 3 and 6 on two types of injectors now with no ill results.

    Memphis, TN for now!

I use pig tail connectors with my EV14 550's at 90 to the fuel rail. It is close and tight on some cyl but much closer to 90 than not.

I initially had them in line with the fuel rail but after researching turned them 90... and found my idle to be smoother after that.

    ^^^

The best option would be to buy Bosch EV14 injectors with the correct adapter already on them like mine. But not sure if the readily available/cheap injectors can be bought with the correct electrical connector.
