Bearings for SAI pump rebuilt 2.7T

I have rebuilt my SAI pump twice. The first time I used some expensive sealed bearings. They were quiet, but blew up after 6 months. I'm not sure if I did not do a good job with reassembly or what. The second time, I bought some cheap, unsealed bearings and used my press to install them. They have held up for two years but are very very noisy from day one.

What bearings do you guys who rebuild these recommend?

I live in California and I am generally concerned about passing emissions every two years. I am looking to get a tune but have not had time. I have browsed the nefmoto site but they got rid of all of their tunes. If anyone wants to help me, I have an 02 TIP with a M-box ( think thats the correct way to identify my ECU)

I still wouldn't mind getting the pump working correctly.

California would not know if you left everything in place. As I understand the system, the SAI only runs for a few seconds when the coolant is cold. Your car would already be at or near operating temp when they test, so it won't run anyway even if it was working. As long as the readiness is set you'd pass.

Recently in my S6, the SAI pump just started making a bunch of noise and within days threw a CEL for insufficient flow. I had it coded out and pulled the 40A maxifuse for the pump motor so it wouldn't kill itself. The coding is basically setting the expected threshold of airflow to 0.

Hmm...You still have that file w/ the SAI coded out?
I have two V8's that could use it. Actually, SAI works perfect on both, so I'd leave it until it gave me a reason to trash it. But I'd still love to not have to worry about the junk turning the yellow light on.
FWIW I'm pretty sure you can use nearly any VW Passat, Jetta, Golf, blah blah..Audi B5 /B6 etc.. SAIP and it'll plug in and work. There were a couple models that had obviously different pumps (like the B5 S4)..but even that would probably work.

    Anyway. I want that file.

I'm in Tuner Pro with my bin open. Where do I set this threshold?

Set these to 0 and it should be disabled

    SAI
    CDSLS - Eurobyte (self explanatory)
    CLASLVE - Plug
    CLASLPE - Pump plug

Here is a good link about disabling everything on Nefmoto

Hmm, this is good info. Looks like if you set CDSLS to 0 then the test will be listed as unsupported. I guess I can always reflash for emissions check back to stock.

With these set to zero will the car will still turn on the pump and turn on the solenoid to activate the combi's? It seems that besides pulling the fuse for the pump, that you should also unplug the solenoid for the combi. I would assume if the combi is opening then exhaust is going to be leaking to the pump. Any thoughts on that?

What do CLASLVE and CLASLPE do?

Hmm, so digging some more, There is good info in the S4 wiki. To fool the system into no needed airflow I need to set MSLUB (0x1A698) and MSLBAS (0x183CC) to zero. Then the test will run, but expect no flow and actually pass. Only issue is I can't find those using TuenrPro and my definition file...more digging

    MSLBAS (0x183CC)

I'm sort of leaning towards tuning it out for the majority of the time since my current pump works.
