    That's a GT4. Your car plus 37K for a Cayman GT4?

    Yes. 10 times out of 10, yes.

    Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but isn't a GT4 more track oriented and less suited for daily driving? if you are planning to track frequently, then its another thing.

    GT3 = 911.

    GT4 = Cayman.

    My guess how he is approaching it, but there's also a pretty steep gap between the 4 and 3.

    Just not a fan of the cayman in terms of looks personally... Did you test drive it yet? I drove one and it felt underpowered imo (after driving a GT3). Huge price difference between the two on the current market, I shouldn't have mentioned it. Just a big fan of the GT3! The GT4 they say will be a collector's item so that is definitely a plus, although Porsche has released a bunch of new allocations....but I think it will still retain value. The GT4 very track focused, stiff etc so I wouldn't recommend it as a DD. However it has an amazing transmission, exhaust sound, and handling is top notch for sure. For the money, it is an amazing car. If you like it and they are giving you a good deal, I don't see why not. If you are looking for a full on lightweight track/sports car, the GT4 is for you....Test drive it first though!

    Can't really compare it to the RS5, two very different cars.

    I'd jump all over it, but the cars are not apples to apples... GT4 is not a daily driver and you won't get the comfort of your current GT. You're the one thats gotta drive it - your call.

    I'd do it in a heartbeat. GT4 will probably hold good value too in the long term.

    GT4 and GT3 are two completely different beasts. GT4 is a Cayman with the 400 hp Carrera S motor. It also has the GT3 front suspension. GT3 is a 911 (991) that has a 3.8L motor as well, but the horsepower was pumped to 475. Both are more track oriented than street oriented. The problem with the Beast's statement is that while the GT4 will be your trade plus $37k cash, a 991 GT3 will be your trade plus $80-100k cash.

    The other problem is that the GT3 prices are going up already as it is no longer produced, and may be one of those cars that keeps getting more desirable. I looked at one a few weeks ago, and the owner said he wouldn't take less than $175k for it if he sold it. GT4s have had a premium, but they seem to be coming down. I expect they will hold okay over time though.

    I have the 18 ways in my GTS and love them. Plenty of support for spirited driving.

    You could drive the GT4 as a daily, especially with the 18 way seats. It will just be a bit firm. I know people who do so.

    The GT3 would fall into the same category as far as being a DD.

    Neither are as comfortable as the RS.

    Scotty, is the GT4 new? On the lot or to order?

    I was under the impression (from what I've read on the Porsche sites) that there are no more GT4 allocations available to order since the new 718s are coming out.

    I'd probably DD a GT4. I'm sure it has adjustable PASM suspension. The non sport setting in my GTS is more settled and comfortable than the PSS10's I had on the S4. The only thing that would concern me is ride height. I scrape with my car if I'm not constantly vigilant. The GT3 is lower than mine obviously but I'm sure the GT4 is as well. Does it have a nose lift hydraulic system?

    GT3 had the lift as an option. GT4 does not.

    GT4 rides 20mm lower than my PASM GTS, and the suspension is adjustable for firmness but not height.

    You will scrape a GT4, but the valance is rubber and designed to be replaceable.

    Buy it with the seats. Go onto one of the P sites and offer to trade the buckets for a set of 18 ways plus $10k. The seats are close to that hot.

    Don't even think about it and go forth with it. Other than the R8, no Audi holds a candle to a Porsche...I know from personal experience. Audi may be a better compromise, but Porsche takes the cake when it comes to the driving feel and experience.

    If it's a second car and you take it to the track, why not? The main criticism about the GT4 I've heard from pretty much everybody who drove one is that the gears are too long, which means you don't really get to enjoy the engine on public roads. At redline in 2nd gear you are at 83 mph, so everything after 2nd gear becomes a cruising gear.

    Get the GT4. Much more of an actual asset. Kept long enough you may earn money on it. Keep it short term you will still likely break even. More fun too.

    Seems the general consensus in here is to do it... I'm on the other side of the fence. I wouldn't.

    If you want a badass Cayman, get the GTS. The GT4 isn't worth it, IMO. This coming from a diehard Porsche fanboy.

    It's only a 10k premium over a GTS if you can get it at/near MSRP, which it sounds like OP is. Total no brainer to get the GT4 given the improvements over the GTS IMO

    That's not even considering the collector factor and/or rarity.

    Base price. Most GTSs that hit the floors were in $90-100 range. About the same as most GT4s that have sold through this area. That's not including the GT4 overcharge.
