Limp mode off the line when trying to gun it.

I was wondering if there is something to get rid of the limp mode or inability to take off quickly in these little cars. I have the APR Stage 1 and still off a dead stop this car seems like it isn't even in gear and if I mash the pedal to the floor it almost doesn't move. Is there a way to get a launch out of these cars? I almost got in a wreck pulling onto a street and just couldn't accelerate quick enough with an oncoming car.

Check out launch control. I only discovered it after 2 years of owning the car, but boy it was worth the wait haha. It's not for every stop light but it is fun when you do it.

OK I did a You Tube video and it shows the DSG tranny doesn't have launch control but you can have a dealer add it? I have the 8 speed tranny.

You can launch. Turn off your esp completely by holding it down for 5 secs. Keep the in s mode. Hold the brake firmly and press the accelerator to build rpm. When it hovers around 3k, release the brake to launch.

Drive it in sport, the car responds much better. Getting a turbo inlet hose also helps a bit with this lag you get when you mash the pedal.

I tried and will try again. From what I read this 8speed tranny doesn't have launch control. Really getting aggravated with the off the line excessive lag. It didn't bother me initially but now I am noticing it all the time. I will give the launch another shot.

Not true, my a5 had 8 speed and I launched it a few times. I haven't tried it yet on my a4
