    just bought maestro

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
first off, wow... maestro is a big bite to chew on.

secondly, i flashed the stage 1 base file onto my ECU and it had no change in performance at all the first time and only a 3 psi increase in boost the second time i flashed it. is that normal for the first time to not always be successful and is 11 psi where a stage 1 car sits?

thirdly, is there a stage 2 file for AWM motors? i didnt get one with my software...

fourthly, i keep getting CELs for various things like ecu power loss, powertrain data bus missing message from abs controller, and pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve... none of which occurred before the flash(es), EVAP incorrect flow.

my car is a 2001 Audi A4 TQM with a cat-delete, borla catback, forge 007, 4 ply boost hoses, snub mount, RA4 clutch kit, intake phenolic spacer, and upgraded coil packs.
2001 A4 TQM. AWM motor - TR11 Intercooler, ECS Snub Mount, RA4 240mm clutch kit with lightweight flywheel, SAI delete, PCV delete with catch-can install, Borla turbobackFS, Forge 007 DV, Raceland Coilovers, weighted shift knob, x2 10" clarion subs, 0/1 awg power and ground, pioneer door and deck speakers, clarion 6.3" headunit, HX35 t3 turbo (installing), E85 conversion (installing), AEB head (to be built)

Whoa, you probably flashed the wrong file. Which one did you use?

    Screen shots please.

This is exactly why I have not bought Mastro yet. You buy a flashed 630cc ECU and just plug it in (with proper maf, injector size, fpr bar, etc) no issues.....ever. You buy this, you get all kinds of stuff going on. ~Fine if not driving the car, but what if you have to. What'd it set you back?

I run maestro on my awm...but would not for the stock turbo. This software is engineered for custom tunes. Not to mention, I don't know how to tune. Forum member tunes my car for me.

One thing I can say, you can squeeze a shit ton of power out the na aspect of the 1.8t. It was done to my car. Low end and high end tuned. Agressive timing to the point I hardly drive in boost. I can also beat any car off the line too, mini vans and all. Regular driving.

yea, the stock turbo is just for now. i bought maestro so i can change my setup at my will rather than having to wait on someone else to tune it or being limited to certain mods because they cant tune for other mods. soon to be at least a K04 car with 550 cc injectors, but no promises lol but i figured out two of my problems that could be causing more of my problems. firstly, i have a bad relay for my ecu power. once that is replaced i should have less issues. second, i figured out that deleting my N249 causes code P1297 under harder acceleration. only issue now is my evap and the throttle body wont align itself properly anymore... i think i need to pull my throttle body and clean it...
i have the N249, boost pressure, and evap CEL turned off now. hopefully in the morning i can swap the relay out and reflash the ECU with the new stage 1 file and have no more issues.

does anyone have the stage 2 file or am i forced to attempt to make my own? no worries. im going to need to make my own anyway when i upgrade my maf and turbo.

Yeah, Tapp is usually quick at email support if your issue is serious enough. This one sounds like it fits the bill.

You just need to understand the software. Follow the instructions for each step properly and you will be fine. Check and uncheck criterions for your car. If mods don't match what you are flashing, expect issues.

But I don't quite think you are understanding how our ecu works. After you flash the file onto your ecu, car will initially run like straight poop. It is during this time the ecu is actually learning your car. You need to give it time. First let it idle and fluids get up to temp. If you take off right after the flash, car will run incredibly lean...and like poop. After fluid get up to temp, you still need to let the ecu learn the car. Go for a spin and drive casual. No boosting. At this time, ecu is learning load calculations for proper fueling. Drive different speeds and do speeds to use all gears. Slowing down to downshift and so forth. You need to do this for roughly 15 minutes. At this point, ecu should have learned the car by now and things will be just fine. You can boost with no issues and so forth.

As for the throttle body adaption, Eurodyne uses the same measuring blocks as Ross Tech. So in a nutshell, you have a full version of VSDS with Eurodyne. I sold my cable with laptop after purchasing the suite because it was no longer needed. And...you can use the diagnosing section for all cars. That section of the software is not locked onto your ecu as maestro is. Use the measuring blocks below from Ross Tech, including the measuring block for the throttle body adaption. But do what was stated above first.

Wanted to add, that it seems your issue really is from loading the flash incorrectly and not knowing about the ecu having to learn load calculations. Also with flashing, you need proper battery voltage on both your laptop and car.

Fix all codes before flash... or fix them first and then see how it boosts. You're not going to get anywhere regarding boost issues if you hsve a CEL specially about pressure drop...

I can see you also don't understand how this softwate works. There is no going back. He already registered the ecu. Ecu is basically married to the cable and software now, with no possibility of divorce...unless you know how to play with ecu coding. There isn't even a stock base file. Starts with stage 1 with stock turbo. Only way for him to do what you are suggesting is to swap in a different ecu.

I got it running. Issue was a relay went bad halfway through a flash and new relay didn't fit in correctly. So I made the new one fit by repinning the plug so the new relay matched the old relay and then it worked fine. Only issue now is the car refuses to idle. I am loading just the base stage 1 file my software came with using the cable it came with on a car with sufficient voltage. I only flash with the car hooked up to the battery charger to avoid voltage issues.

You either need to run throttle body adaption, or you could have a massive vacuum leak. I usually forget to plug everything in and have a freak out moment when my car doesn't run.

i jsut got back to my shop where my car is parked. i am gonna run TBA and check for any leaks and codes and if nothing turns up just flash the stage one base file to the ecu from the eurodyne server instead of from a file.
