Clutch or Transmission, Shudder under full boost hit with occasional slip...

Background: Car makes north of 550whp, normal clutch activity and shifting UNTIL boost comes on.

2nd gear pulls hard but it feels like a shuddering/tires breaking loose but they aren't. Sometimes is pulls great and nothing feels out of the ordinary.

3rd gear immediate shudder/vibration followed by a "slip". If I feather the pedal after the slip it will pull like normal. Last night I could feel the vibration towards the rear of the car.

If I pedal it, it may grab it may not or it will shudder.

Mounts look good but would they cause a slipping issue if they were bad?

Im use to a clutch just slipping, this is something that can be felt very noticeably and nothing is consistent.

Any help is appreciated.

What you're describing sounds like clutch slippage.

Well. .. not sure about the shuddering. Mine will slip into space sometimes but no shudder.

Yea it feels like it's trying to grab. I guess I'll inspect it when I pull. Wonder if there is a way to test the transmission? I mean what could it be, it's quiet and no weird issues other than under full power.

Come on you noobs, the only slipping is going to occur at the clutch. I'm willing to bet the op is not running a full face disc

southbend 6 puck stage 4 extreme. So the transmission going bad won't exhibit slip like conditions?

Automatic? Sure. Manual? No, there are gears meshing so ZERO chance of slip. Manual transmissions like to fail in a more catastrophic manner.

The shuddering is most likely just each puck sliding across the flywheel and pressure plate. A full face disc would not have the same feel.

my 6 puck slipping was butter smooth, no juddering or jarring... Anyhow, it is definitely a slip and perhaps some more extensive damage to clutch took place that makes it judder. How is clutch operating during normal conditions?

It chatters bad on starts but it's not bad during normal shifting.

what kind of flywheel? aluminum or steel? i believe aly ones will chatter regardless.

Lots a LWFW but I've been on 4 clutches and this is by far the worst chatter. I thought it was just during break in but it never went away. I had this clutch rebuilt and before it didn't chatter like this.
