I already lost one, my other just kind of sits there. All 6 tabs are intact, they just will not snap into place! Is there some trick I am missing here?!

What i did was took off the front bumper and made sure the tabs are fully in and hooked from the back.

It would seem like dropping the belly pan would be less effort.

You could do that too, but when i was installing my RS4 rep grille my bumper was off already so it was easier for me to secure where the fog tabs were physically and visually.

It can be hard to get all the tabs engaged due to the bumper flexing. I think it's the bottom tabs that are difficult. You can try this.... turn the wheel to give you some room, remove the 2 lower torx screws on the wheel liner and bend the liner back. You can then reach in and engage the tabs from behind. This is also an easy way to change the fog light bulb if needed.
Others have just inserted a small black screw in a corner of the cover to secure it.

I like that idea of going through the wheel well. Tried the screw driver method, didn't work.

Tried that, flexing both bumper and tabs. No difference.

I wasn't referring to a screwdriver, but driving a small black screw through the plastic to secure it. Not my preferred method, but others have done this and it is very hard to notice.

if you still can't get it hooked try hot glue on the tab. Its not permanent, but will hold it on so you don't lose it, and not visible from the front.

That's what I did. I put a set screw and painted it black. Never had an issue. I've been thinking of hiding a spare key behind the grill...
