    Coilover Question

People comment that coilovers are good because everything is made to work together (springs, struts, shocks)

I have a 2011 S5 Coupe with HR OE sprints. I do not intend to adjust my height much and don't track the car

What would be the difference between getting an HR coilover kit or jjust adding HR shocks and struts to my OE springs? Finally , What about adding the Bilstein shocks and struts to the HR OE Springs?

To my surprise, I have actual met a few people on AZ that say they are not a fan of coilovers.

i think the main difference will just be the height adjustability. In some cases like with Bilstein's PSS10 coilovers you can adjust the shock/strut damping by turning a knob. As far as keeping your OE springs and swapping out stock shocks/struts for HR or Bilstein, I'm not really sure what the advantage would be aside from having different damping rates.

Bilstein sport shocks are superior to oem.

If you find your car feels bouncy or the suspension isn't controlled correctly with your current springs then it may be time to upgrade the dampers (no need for coil overs).
If the car rides fine and feels like the damper is keeping the spring under control then there's no need to waste any money on a damper.

I have only owned one set of coilovers my whole life. And it was for my current car. Can never go back to OEs unless its a daily driver. It really depends on your situation. If you only have ONE car in your garage, and you're already thinking about the negative parts of coilovers, maybe it's not for you.

If you have the $, just air out like B2K (Steven)
