    GTX Eliminator

I am debating upgrading my current setup. I am now a 2.0L, with an AEB head. So the engine is ready for anything. I want to keep an Elim setup because I want to be able to pass emissions anywhere in the US. So I plan to keep my 034 HFC and the stock airbox and my Frankenturbo manifold. In the future I plan to upgrade to a 70mm intake with a IE intake manifold with cams too. I currently have running a UNI 630 file and I want to keep that if possible.

So, should I go with a GTX2863r or a GTX2867r? I do really like early spool. The 67 only spools a little later. The thing I am worried about is that pushing the engine too hard with the 67 will make a huge amount of backpressure due to the Elim setup.

So what are the thoughts of everyone?

Passed NY sate inspection 2 weeks ago. My car is far from street legal. Just need to find a place to get it done

    -no catalytic converter
    -emission delete
    -window tint
    -no CEL

Nynoah, I feel that would be a waste. The port size is just too restrictive. There is a limit you will choke the engine off, and I feel you won't see the gains you want to see. But with that being said, person years back made close to 400whp on a GT3071R eliminator on e85.

    Correction: He cracked 400whp http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...h-Maestro-tune
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like a bitch

So best go with a GTX2863r and not try to push it with a GTX2867r. I have been trying to find info on when either of these two will see full boost but seems the internet does not have much info.

if you have a 2.0L an Elim is a complete waste. KKK flange is restrictive to even a FT!

    a gtx2867r @ 2l of displacement should be a monster....with a proper housings/manifold set up.

Get a PagParts Kit... Bottom mount, can use the stock IC... just keep your airbox and a silicone inlet and looks factory.

Sadly the pagparts manifold setup is really expensive. Which if I am spending that much money I am going to get an EFR 7163 or 6758.

its expensive, but its the best. Gotta PAY TO PLAY son!

Whether its a GTx, EFR, or Precision, its gonna cost $. Comparing an Eliminator with a full Sized housing is comparing peas to carrots...

Eliminators are a waste, if you want the best $$:HP ratio get a newer FT with "MixedFlow" tech, port it out, and youll not only save $$ over an ELIM, it will make more power.

I say go for it. Just get a supercore gtx2867r, and slap it your eliminator housing. Didn't Andyrew run a 76r in a custom eliminator housing? Then just keep an eye out for an apr manifold or something. Just get the 28r compressor housing.

Ya he ran the 3076 elim that atp now offers as a upgrade.

I see atp has a t3 upgrade for elim kits now not sure if it's worth it or not. Have heard they are alot better quality now. 3k for kit with gtx67 upgrade and t3 external gate upgrade isn't bad.

Arnold runs about 5k with fueling and tune. So about 1k cheaper for atp. I'll be going with one of the 2 very soon.

Build your own manifold if the pagparts manifold is too pricey!

Put at least a gt30 or bigger framed turbo on your car.

I'm sure you could even do what my friend did and buy a cheap $100 manifold, then modify it to your own specifications!

I honestly value mid HP onset more than absolute HP numbers. So a GT30 is way too much lag for me.

PagParts Entry level kits are $2800... +$450 for the upgraded gtx2867r.... http://pagparts.com/product_info.php...roducts_id=699

    What are you guys smoking!?!?!

Thats just over $3k for the best manifold on the market, made of SS, VBAND, and cnc machined ports.... but you wanna give atp the same $ for a inferior design...

OK now the guilt is getting to me and I am debating just ponying up for an EFR 6758 kit from PAGparts.

    Its not guilt, its Logic.

PPT design is superior all around, even down to the install. You can use normal wrenches to install, vband is cake and doesnt have a gasket to ever fail you...

Not to mention the stock turbo location and his customer service. Arnold is the man!

No offense but ur coming off as mike does for comp turbo/full race.
I was talking externally gated not internal. With fueling, tune ect. Try not to get so upset we all know Arnold's setup is better than most but atp really isn't as bad as people who ran them 10 years ago say..

haha, Im not upset. Ive just been down the road hes thinking. trying to guide him based on my experiences. Im not the only one who raves about PPT either ... ;-)

yeah, for externally gated its about $4k before fueling...I know, I bought one. I see fueling as needed across the board so I dont include it.

I was suggesting the internally gated kit cause he has an Eliminator... which iirc are internally gated. again keeping things apples-apples.

Bottom line, buy nice not twice. thats my suggestion

I just talked with Arnold at PAGparts. The price is workable but still steep.

I currently have my GTRS Elim soon to be sold. So now I will be selling my Franken turbo mani with EGT sensor and my 034 HFC with extra wide band bung. So if anyone is interested in either hit me up with a PM.

Yep agreed. In doing pag externally gated similar to op I'm not sure if I want efr71 or gtx67. I feel if op is doing full setup he might as well go external just to get the best option possible.

Does Arnold even offer efrs for us and will they fit in that turbo location is another question.

Yes, if you're going to upgrade, do it right. In that sense an External WG is a better option (if funds allow).

PPT does offer EFRs for longitudinal 1.8ts, not sure on pricing but he can set you up with anything. I wanted to go with an efr when my 2867r went out, but I didnt have the funds/time didnt allow. its marginally more than a external gated gtx.

    If anyone wanting an EF

So now the plan is internally waste gated .64 Vband EFR6758. Which is what I have always wanted. Arnold is going to make an intake to let me keep my stock airbox. Kit also includes a highflow CAT. So pretty much everything that I wanted. Car you make me so broke.... lol

Thank you for testing a setup that I would seriously consider in a year or two. I'll be following this closely. :)

I'll second, third, etc this motion. I'm on my third turbo, it gets expensive, changing manifold, intercooler piping, turbo inlet piping, exhaust modifications..... The list goes on and on. Great choice with buying the kit you really see yourself using.

My only other advice is never use credit to fund a build, hopefully that's not too late.

I just got the invoice from Arnold at PAG parts. So looks like I am going EFR. I will be sure to post some info and keep you all up to date when it comes in. I will post it in my build thread. I will be selling all my left over parts to help fund the build. No credit needed. I don't even have a credit card to my name anyways. Next task is to work on my wiring loom to fix my random misfires.
