Is this an aftermarket short shifter?

Pulled this out of my car when installing my JHM Trio kit.
I also pulled those spacers out between the rails of the shifter and the box, which is why I'm guessing its not stock.

Would I get any benefit by running those spacers with the JHM SS?

Yes it is aftermarket. Those spacers are not needed with JHM. I guess that the old shifter is too long, and it would touch the base without the spacers.

If the white plastic ball thing is worn the jhm ss would make a difference. Id prob run it if the ball is in good shape.
If you do run it, I think the foot on the bottom needs to be flipped over. Iirc, it is supposed to kick toward the dside?

^ sure looks like the UUC that I removed from my car which was installed by the PO.

I was able to sell it pretty quickly via the regional 'zine classifieds. But the ball on mine looked nearly new. I think I got around $60.

The ball is almost non-existent, It felt like I could almost pull the shifter out of the socket, which is why I went with the JHM unit. Was just curious if the spacers would add any extra benefit with the JHM kit (shorter throw, smoother, etc).

I believe I found the same shifter installed in my car. Ball is also super loose in there. I really want to go JHM

If you dont want it, Id like to play with it. (I dont think you can get that ball without buying the whole damn shifter)
Just ordered an el cheapo 3d printer and that might be a fun project.
