    Supporting mods.

Sorry if this isn't the right spot for this post.

I'm curious what upgrades/supporting mods I should do or plan on doing assuming I'm going stage 2.

I want to make sure and upgrade things that regularly fail under added stress, or known to go first.

Short list of what I plan to upgrade
    -Air intake
    -R8 coils
    -Silicon turbo inlet pipe

    I know there's a lot more, curious what's suggested.

    Thanks in advanced

I think with stage II you gotta get a downpipe

I'm sorry , yea I actually am going to do a full turbo-back exhaust

I was more curious about the little things I can change and upgrade. Hoses , electronics , pulleys , plugs etc..

Really the only things that come to mind are the PCV, DV, Plugs and Coils.

Everything else is supplemental to performance instead of maintenance.

and out of those plugs are required depending on the OPs year. PCV, DV and coils should be fine if they are the newer version or a b8.5. correct?

Good point, but depends on productions date. My B8.5 was included in the recent PCV Recall Campaign. I went the catch-can route so it's a moot point for me anyway.

Pcv something I should do if I have no current issues?

I do like the upgraded DV

I thought there was some other pulley, or hose, or something that's recommended to change

    Car is at 70k miles

i recently went stage II and had the forge DV installed...car ran terrible and there a P0299 underboost code. Re-installed the stock DV and the car ran great. Catless downpipe is the only requirement for Stage II i believe. You could always get the upgraded HPFP internals if you have money to burn

Does it have to be catless? Can you do the 034 HFC?
I'm also thinking about going stage 2

The only thing required is either a HFC or a Test Pipe.

Everything else is just a nice to have.

This and a tune are all you need for real power upgrade. Everything else is nice to have and offer little performance but can do small changes in the car, like decrease turbo lag, make the car feel like its breathing better.

OP is just asking for tips on maintenance-type mods to avoid OEM part failures under the added boost.

    i.e. PCV, plugs, etc.

In that case I have a brand new APR Carbonio intake up for grabs at $400.

If you still have it when I'm ready to buy it id love to take it off your hands. Assuming it's the full carbon fiber covered version?

Are there any suggested down pipes / hfc's that match an APR tune better then others?

Pretty much interchangeable. APR wants you using theirs but there isn't really a functional difference.

    As far as I can find APR doesn't make a Downpipe for a b8 a4 anymore ?

Looking at possibly AWE , any other suggestions assuming this is the only portion of the exhaust I would be doing

They are. The old one was discontinued. The new one will release soon.
