Any Information on This Modded S5?? Interested Buyer

Hey Guys,

New to the forum and am currently considering an Audi S5 Carbio. Am wondering if anyone has come across the below S5 and have any information on any issues it might have. This car is roughly $8-$10k MORE than a few local S5 Cabrios are selling for with the same mileage but completely stock. So one of my questions is, are there quite a few "premium" mods on the car?

I like the look of the pre-facelift but prefer the interior of the facelift cars and it seems that this car has upgraded the interior. What do you guys think of this one? Opinions on the price? Thanks in advance

If the mods are important to you, they add value. But generally speaking they decrease the value of the car. But this has StopTech, Ecodes, Deval Lip, facelift tail lights etc. Worth the premium imo.

Also flat bottom sterring wheel with carbon trim, Carbon fiber MMI trime, Carbon fiber Mirror caps, carbon fiber coin holder delete. The polished exhaust tips make me think AWE exhaust but I can't see any inscription. Also spacers and obviously lowered on an aftermarket suspension, springs or coils I'm guessing. They mention aftermarket sways, so I'm guessing Eurocode sways, maybe endlinks too? APR with the Pulley means it's already stage 2 (400+ HP). Who knows what else?

I don't know this car, but the mod list looks good for sure. @surfrboy might have some info if this car originated from the Chicago area. It certainly looks a lot like his car. Great looking car and probably a good comparison vs. my (old) S5 for sale at a dealer in Texas.

Mine is a 2011, has more miles but similar mod list.
My 2011 is a premium plus from the factory. But has the following:
AWE touring exhaust
APR stage 2 tune with pulley
Bilstein PSS10 coilovers
Alu Kreuz
SPC control arms
RS5 big brake kit
Deval Carbon fiber rear diffuser and front lip
Hid fog lights and Black optics trim
D3 head light bulbs
R8 flat bottom steering wheel
RS5 black optics front grill
034 transmission mount insert
Eurocode front and rear sway bars and end links.
RS5 OEM rear lip spoiler.

My car was meticulously maintained, so make sure you get some history on the 2010. Good luck.
The $39k is pricey but looks like a real nice car.

Please before buying the car have the transmission checked out thoroughly. The DSG in the 2010 Cab is a nightmare waiting to happen. I love the mods though very tastefully done.

I've seen it myself in person many times, ridden in it a few, and can tell you that the individual who owned it took meticulous care of it.

As stated above, the car belonged to @srfrboy. He is replacing it with a 997 911 Turbo S. He is extremely active on this board, and a close friend of quite a few of us that do Sunday Cars and Coffee. I've personally driven in the car, and driven the car myself, and can tell you that without a doubt, it was EXTREMELY well taken care of. Randy is very dedicated to his cars and no expense was spared for that car, other than the exhaust. He put different tips on it but the exhaust is stock, his wife didn't want the added noise.

Again, you wouldn't be making a mistaking purchasing it.

Thanks all for the information! Really helpful. Regarding the quote above, are these known issues with the DSG transmission in the 2010's (s5 cab and s4)? I just did some light research and it appears that there are issues with the DSG which now scares me. At $40k I'm getting close to a higher mileage RS5 range.

I had a 2010 cab with 61k and needed a transmission replaced. Cost is 10k+ Which is why you need to be very careful. This was not an isolated incident as 2010 DSG cars (S5 Cab and S4) are notorious for this problem. It's either a 4-5k mechatronic or the entire transmission.

Hello gents! Yes, this was my car before I sold it back to the dealer in which I purchased it from originally. If you look at my signature, you can see all that has been done to this car. I have never had any issues with the DSG and had recently had the DSG fluid changed. The Audi dealer that I took it to said that there were no concerns with the DSG. Whoever buys this car will be getting one of the best B8 S5's out there. For a cabrio, it is really, I mean really fast. Just ask all the S4's that I am faster than. I took really good care of this car and regret getting rid of it. But, I am moving to a 997.2 TT. If you should have any other questions... Feel free to ask.
