So I get random EPC lights that always result in limp mode. Codes p2294 confirmed and p0087 pending. I dont know what the confirmed or pending means. I dont think its the sensor I've been getting these codes for a while now, no one seems to know what to do. Any ideas?

Check the top connector on the high pressure fuel pump. The wires might be broken or possibly the connector fell off. Also check the pump and cam follower for damage. If your cam follower is broken and it has been like this for a while the shaft of the pump is damaged and will need replaced and depending on how long it has been like that the intake cam might also be damaged. I have seen these codes come up on 2.0t engines with damaged cam followers and intake cams.

Have you gotten the original issues resolved?

The original issue was fuel pressure related so I would say no. Literally everything fuel related has been replaced, both pumps, ECU, filter, sensors, it keeps coming back. I'll go awhile trouble free but it keeps coming back.

The wire from the connector on top of hpfp has been replaced all the way to the ECU. The cam follower is fine and so is the cam.

So you replaced the ECU, both fuel pumps, fuel filter, and sensors (don't know which sensors you are referring to) and you also replaced the wiring from the top connector of the fuel pump to the ECU? If you used OEM parts, thats at least $2000 in parts alone (not including whatever sensors you replaced) assuming you replaced them all free of labor. And you did all of this to fix a low fuel pressure code? May I ask too why did you randomly replaced the wiring from the ECU to the fuel pump connector?

Quick question. Is it normal for the EPC light to stay illuminated prior to car starting? I switch mine on, and it will stay illuminated and only turn off when engine is started.

This wasn't me. It was partly an Audi dealership and partly an Audi specialist that works in tandem with the dealership I bought the car from and yes it was all OEM. I dont recall what the sensors were. Low pressure sensor? High pressure sensor? Idk. I have been posting here for over a year now hoping that someone would read this and say "hey this happened to me check this" but not so far. Yes there has been a lot of money put into this car there is no way Im going to quit now.

Just to clarify the money spent at the Audi dealership was my mistake. I assumed, being certified Audi mechanics and with all the equipment they have, they would be able to locate the problem and fix it. Not true. Most of the money spent at the Audi specialist was the dealer I got it froms dime. Thumbs up to that guy. Also, in addition, the battery and alternator were replaced. That seemed to fix it for a few months. ITs been back for maybe 2-3 months now, randomly. The only thing that seems to be a common factor is low rpms, like when it's idling or when Im coasting down a hill. Ive had it in sport mode the last couple days and its been fine. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.

Have you ever checked the 614 relays under the ECU? I got the EPC/limp mode several times. I replaced the relays even though they looked/tested fine. Have not had the problem since. Maybe the contacts were dirty? Parts are cheap.
