    Seriously? Yaw Rate Sensor

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So getting christmas tree and vcds code for yaw rate sensor. I did not kow the car had one until today. Was going to remove it and re-solder the pins. According to some vw forum people this is a fix. However, holding the sensor together are two 5 point torx security screws! I cant find this tool anywhere in town. Only 6 point.

This is more of a rant, much less a question...

Sometimes they go a little funny too and cause ESP to engage and cut power when taking sweeping highway speed corners, never heard of it failing though. Try your local big box hardware store and find one of those cheap 100pc security bit sets. They're really cheap and have pretty much every bit you'd ever need.

Oh yea mine has brake checked my edl like 5 times since I have owned the car and would flash the traction control light. It always happened going around corners on warm sunny days. No loose ground at all. Sometimes I would need to press the esp button to stop it. Then it failed yesterday and same symptoms today after clearing code.

Anyhow, I am going to order the tool on amazon here and get it in tow days. But tomorrow ill just go get a used one from pick n pull for $5.

I need to tell you that your allroad is really clean man. Enjoyed reading thru your thread. You will love the K04s, they are such a perfect daily sized turbo.

What's the part number on it? If it's 5 bucks I might scoop one up since mines cut in once or twice too.

Thanks for the compliment my friend. I want to return it in regards to your D2. I want one so bad and I'm hunting. Yours is tasty and I'm following the thread. Looking for 02, 03 and hopefully dead trans for like $1k and 01E swapping it. What I hate is how secretive everyone is that has done the swap. Like just give the part numbers already... lol.

It is 4B0 907 637 A. It appears to be universal between b5, c5, and d2. So that is good.

Well mine will be for sale in about two-three weeks for $5K after I fix a few things with the coolant. That car is super clean interior/exterior but I am having cooling issues. They are literally everywhere with dead transmissions. I would talk to scotty about the swap details or even better get on a8partsforum UK as they are the real d2 people. Not too many d2 followers in the US...

That A8 trans swap is a big thing and can imagine awesome. I think couple of the hurdles is that there is no US car that had a few of the important parts you need. Shift linkage, pedals, driveshaft? All have to come from Europe. Or Scotty.
Saw a perfect White D2 A8L for sale locally recently, trans was fine but it made me curious. For the most part doesn't look like the worst project, but a headache to get the parts!
And then it wouldn't even fit in my garage.

If garage space is a problem then you will just need to buy a larger house. :) You must feed your audi addiction under any costs.

Yes, but in the grand scheme of things, it is not impossible by any means. Seriously there is such great D2 on http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/index.php

I think more Europe people have done the swap

    Lol, this.

I'm blessed with an oversized garage. Have pulled a friends S8 I to work on it and about 2 feet behind the trunk and perhaps 6 feet of space in front of the hood.

I'll PM Scotty. I'm pretty serious about a swap when I find an A8. That's why I'm choosing A8 and must have a bad trans. I know driveshaft and linkages can be extended and pedal boxes can be modded. But since it came from from factory with manual I would rather source OEM parts.

Pics in your build are dead for me now :(

There are a lot near me, but none of them are facelift. And particularly I want 02, 03.

I have a buddy here in reno with two PFL D2s. One with blown 4.2, one with blown tip. Problem is that I really do not care for the interior of the PFL A8.

To be quite honest i enjoy driving the allroad like 3x more. I like the power, it is smaller and more quick. I think if I am able to sell the a8 then Ill finally be able to pamper my ar with some 18zs

Agree, pre-facelift is too dated in many respects.

There's a nice set of TT RS fronts with rotors on Panjo.

Hmm. $850. That is a pretty fair price. The ONLY issue for me is that I wish to maintain the functionality of my twin spokes, especially for wintertime setups. I wish these would fit

Oh yes. That is a pain. I sold my D3 S8 wheels and now the allroad is sitting in the garage on stands. I've tried a number of 18" wheels and no dice.

But they do look good with 19s and 20s.

Ended up having to pay $17 at pick n pull. Problem fixed.

I loke the look of those d3 s8 wheels on your ar. How is the ride quality with those low pros? Is the handling much better assume? Are you still on air?

I bought them with slightly stretched 245 Michelins, the ride was harsh, and loud. Swapped for some 255s and it was really nice. My Pirellis on 19s are super quiet and handing is unreal.

Still on air, 402'd a lot on OEM bags and struts.
