There is a film on the front display that has dots all over it. The previous owner installed it and I just cant deal with it anymore. Any Ideas on how to get it off?

Aircraft paint stripper helps remove it with ease. Mine had the same thing, so I put some aircraft paint stripper in a bottlr and sprayed down the whole console. Make sure to let it soak on there for a min or so though

Sad part is somebody may do a search one day looking for an answer to a similar question and this stupid thread will come up. So in all seriousness, I was pissed when a local hand wash place used some interior detailer and cleaned the nav screen. It left some residue and smear on the screen that for the life of me I could not get out. One day I tried Mr Clean dry erase sponge, and it actually cleaned the screen really well without any residue. It's all I use on the Nav screen now.

Freakin hell... why didn't i think of magic eraser for stuff like this? I even use those things inside my reef aquarium sometimes to get stubborn algae off the glass.

I would be cautious over time with using the mr clean eraser. it's a mild abrasive which is what makes it so effective. I personally would not use it on my mmi screen.

Wtf? Take that screen surround (trim) off and see if there's a protective cover the guy before you put on it. Plus with it off you can clean the entire screen a little better. What have you used to clean it?

I clean my screen with a microfiber towel and distilled water. It doesn't damage the screen and it cleans it really well.

Try distilled water and a microfiber towel first. It won't scratch the screen. If that alone doesn't work then try a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and white vinegar.

Looks to me like someone sprayed a cleaner of some sort directly on the screen.

my cars screen was scratched when I bought it so I bought a used one on ebay for $100.

I did test out the old one and you can remove the antiglare coating with magic eraser or alcohol but then it will be full of glare. Id try that before breaking down and buying new/used part

My screen looked the same, but the Mr clean eraser took care of it. I actually had glare before using the eraser because of whatever chemical that was sprayed on. After using the eraser, no glare.
