    Will this buff out?

    About half an hour ago, while at the end of the off ramp waiting for my turn to merge onto the street with about 15 cars behind me, I got tapped by the driver behind me. We pulled over to a safe location and assessed the damage. Thankfully, it was hardly noticeable, but upon closer inspection, her front license plate frame left an impression on my bumper and it also left a few spider web cracks. So do you think this can be buffed out?

    Side note: I got her info (Driver's License and phone number), but she didn't have her insurance info. The impact had to have occurred at whatever speed it takes for you to inch forward when you're on an offramp, so I'm hoping all it requires is a buffing.
    Also, I'm glad my zubehor valance was not damaged, because those things are sold out! (Pics coming in a bit as I upload them from my phone).

    What do you guys think?

    If you're super OCD, yes. The paint cracked, that's the downside to plastic painted pieces :(

    It'll look a LOT better after some time with a buffer, but it won't disappear completely. Try the cheap and easy option first... Meguiar's makes a good polish. We used it on @Lambda13 's car and it worked well.

    definitely a full repaint, don't even try to blend that area it will only look like crap.

    similar work up here would be $450-$500. That includes OEM paint with several "tinting" to match the existing areas. If you settle for someone that will do an "paint match" or take it to the local Wesco with your VIN it may be less expensive... in the $350 range.

    I'm at the shop now and they confirmed it would require a full repaint, after smoothing out the impression. Said the ball park was about $450-500. I'm awaiting the official estimate now.

    +1 paint's damaged, needs to be removed and refinished. How familiar are you with this shop? There are probably several good body shops between Whittier and Santa Clarita in greater LA but I highly recommend Gary's Collision Center in Newhall.

    This has happened to me twice so far in my A4. The first time, I decided to pay out of pocket and have him upgrade my car to the rear S-Line bumper. His Painter is excellent, especially at color matching. He's done work on all three of our cars. I'm super OCD and I'm telling you his shop does nice work.

    I take mine to Downey Fix Auto on Firestone, about a mile west from McKenna Audi. I've taken my car there for other work and they really treat my car with care. I've recommended a few folks there and they've been pleased. I was actually recommended that place to begin with and that's how I learned about that place.
