Hey guys. I know everyone seemed to be less than thrilled with Matt Farah's Tuned episode with the 2 B5's. Heres a new one(free too!!). He's still not 100% all in for the car but you be the judge.

Finished watching it. I came away feeling he only made that to quasi make up for / explain the last video he made with the two Justins cars. But it was better in terms of tone, and he selected more suitable roads and kept in mind how the car was intended to be used too.

Not as bad as the first review. but I do find it funny that he said he liked the sound in the Drive video but then says he doesn't like it in this one. Oh well. I really think he likes the car but doesn't want to admit it.

I don't see why people get mad over what he says.

The cars 15 years old. I'm sure if he drove a 1999 m3 versus a new m3 it would be night and day.

He's right about our suspension though. But the car wasn't made for hitting the curves.

The bigger question, is why does he continue getting paid to do these reviews/shows? I have yet to hear anything remotely useful come from him, from any review. He's the Johnny Manziel of car host.

Lol, I no joke watched the VR6 Jetta review he did and hit his first comment about that. Skipped ahead to a random spot a few minutes later and he was still talking about it.

Does anyone have a 450-500whp e85 b5 s4 around LA he can drive with a nice beefy rear sway and decent coilovers? I think he would completely change his mindset about these cars if he drove one of those fine examples... I'd say any car that is capable of making double the hp and tq over factory specs is pretty damn reliable to me. Just listening to him in these videos is extremely obnoxious and just shows how clueless he really is about these cars.

the cars are not 'crappy', in fact I think both the red and the yellow one were quite nice; but they're also not track-rat cars. they've been OTS stage 3 cars, or more engine wise, but suspension upgrades have been relatively bare bones, and I question if they've been setup and tested properly for canyon runs.

To be fair he reports it as a crappy autocross car, but when i just had a chip, neuspeed RSB and H&Rs (albeit with some alignment research) 10 years ago, i posted a 45 second autocross time, with the next fastest street-legal car posting a mid 49second time. Only a fully caged/stripped datsun on slicks came close -- and that's all that car/driver ever did was autocross with his trailer queen. Considering there were about 50 cars there, including z06's, lsx rx7s, mr2s, and the like, i'd say that's pretty good for a 'crappy autocross car'.

While far from perfect the cars can do well with the correct parts and driver mod. They did great (like were 1 and 2 ) back int the speedvision world challenge.

Keyboard warrior??? Why...cause a frankenturbo'd, previously automatic B5 S4 that obviously has something wrong with it (evident by the beeping right before Matt drove it) is not what I would consider to be the best choice to impress an B5 hater?? Very few properly built S4's around these parts. Based on your comment...you don't own one of them.

Well the auto part really doesn't matter and most guys into handling would not like a huge laggy setup. No beef just saying. He actually commented that he like how it rides I dunno.

I think he's referring to the timing of turnin, brake release, etc. IMHO every car requires this adjustment, and even changing alignments, diffs, suspension, brake bias/abs, etc all affects this. Understeer under ABS, possibly oversteer on liftoff, understeer on initial throttle input, and possibly oversteer on exit = our cars pattern. Some cars are more fluid than others, and I concur that ours is a bit particular. His insinuation of setting the wheel at a location and then dealing with the corner is flat wrong, as you suggest; but then again, he's not really a race car driver (or otherwise exceptionally talented in this respect -- by his own admission).

I hear you but these aren't BAT 1.8t's. Throw a properly built 3 liter 770 car at this guy with a proper fuel system, Ohlins suspension, and good brakes and we JUST might make a believer out of him. Full boost at 3700 RPM's and 700whp is a good thing.

Weird unmuffled, I agree it you wouldn't assume that it's a mid-sized sedan making that noise. I think we can all agree that he doesn't appreciate the platform that much. But I mean really who cares?

Yes the big turbos can build boost fairly early properly tuned, especially on a 3L. However, turbo lag is more than that, what happens when I lift throttle then reapply it? that's when turbo lag kicks in -- the time it takes to reboost. Even on PJK04s there is noticable turbo lag. That's why rally cars run anti-lag.

All I can say is i went from a b5 s4 to e46 m3. The m3s suspension was unreal versus our car.

You have to figure he drives $80-100k cars that are modern and built way better in terms of suspension and acceleration.

I'm sure if you went from driving a brand new m3 to someone's tuned s4 and were comparing the overall driving experience you would favor the m3.

Don't get me wrong I love my b5 s4 and that's why I came back. The only car I'm "replacing" this with is a m3. But it's not apples to apples in comparison.

I agree though I don't understand why people listen to him talk about the driving experience. Who cares what one person thinks.

If you like your car than that's all that matters.
