So I obviously cannot speak on boots' behalf, but recently I was in a buddies chevy and noticed that his pillars and rearview mirror were black with a grey headliner. I didn't think it looked out of place at all. That being said I was sitting in the passenger seat, so I cannot comment on how it looked from the backseat. It made me think about doing the same to my AR though.

I did the A-pillars and rear view mirror in my black allroad, and nobody ever noticed unless I pointed it out. And when driving, I only noticed it when I actually looked for it. For me, it was more important to black out those pieces because they stand out so much from the outside of the car.

Grey pillar on the left, black pillar on the right:

    Both black:

Now all I notice in those pics are the grey B-pillars. I had black B-pillars (and a bunch of other black headliner pieces) but never got around to installing them before I sold it.

That's a good point, I never thought about how they'd look on the outside, it is a noticeable difference for sure. I might have to do something like this to my car down the road, more money into the pit hahaha

@Killerboots your car is so sick, never change. I have always cursed Audi for deciding to only have the allroad as our wagon of choice these days but you have made this thing sought after. Many like it but indeed, yours. I recognize it every time I see it on insta or random photos of it.

Thank you! I try to keep it clean and not go overboard.

I had some black vinyl applied to the roof, lower doors and rear spoiler last week. I like how it turned out and doesn’t appear too wild for my taste

I like the black vinyl, especially on the sides. Gives it great flow from the front to back bumpers. Nice touch, man, as usual.

What brand and shade of vinyl was used on the lower doors? I've been looking to do this as well, but I haven't found a great match.

I figured I’d give it a try! I always thought Jeff Sims white allroad look great with the same treatment. I think it works best with the contrasted flares.

Hey Kyle, I looked at a ton of swatches from 3M, Arlon and Oracal and it was hard to find a direct match with vinyl. Either too dark or too light. My installer then ordered some samples from VVIVID. I decided on their Matte Black Metallic. It’s more like a dark gray with a little flake. I was unsure how the “metallic” would look but from two feet away, it’s not noticeable at all and just blends in with the flare color.

Awesome! Thanks for that. I've been through a bunch of swatches too and haven't found one that's quite right. If put off doing it for that reason. I'll check this one out.

Always been a big fan of the vinyl look to match the colored flares. Looks so good on the OEM+ AR king

Looks great Eric, I've been debating doing the lower doors like that for a bit, glad you were able to find a good match, that was always my concern.

Would also love to see some higher light pics

I recently bought the exact same wagon... It's the only THING I ever bought that I feel like looks good with stock wheels. Nice car. Are those Rotors only 9" wide? they look good.. Peelers too.

Big bump to this thread! Congrats on your AR! I don’t mind the stock wheels either.

Yep, rotors were 9x20 ET26. And sadly no longer in my possession.

Peelers are 8.5x20 ET33. I pushed them out a little further this year with 12.5mm front, 15mm rear spacers.

What's up Killer? Question.. Are you running spacers with these 20x9's? I didn't think a 9 would fill up the wheel well that much.

I wasn’t running spacers with the 9x20 rotor wheels. The offset was pretty good at ET26. I’ll bet that with a more stretched 30 series tire they could be pushed out a little more. 3-5mm?

I did try but rubbed immediately with the 265/30’s

I was on 265/30’s with coilovers and air. Both suspension setups were fine with the OEM rotors. I was pretty low at 25” FTG too. Only rubbed when I tried adding spacers, which I quickly removed.

And since this thread is getting bumped how about a couple pics of the new summer wheels..

End goal, drop the allroad for a more aggressive and planted ride. These are the same spec tires on the B8 RS4 Avant. Since I had the tires off I figured I'd replace the cheap rubber valve stems with matching gunmetal valve stems made by Huf (RDV001). I did this on my peelers as well and loved the look. Credit to my wagon brother @sedan_guy for the part number there and the advice on tire sizing!
Do you mind sharing the part number for the metal valve stems? I see a bunch show up for the (RDV001)

I’m afraid of the 265/30/20. I live in ATL. And while we drive warm weather tees all year, the roads aren’t always what we want. So I’m gonna experiment with the 265/35/20. Not to mention the max weight on the 265/30 is like 1700 lbs. not sure if that’s wise on a 4k lb car. Not sure.

There have been a few revisions but they’re all very similar. Not enough to worry about. RDV001 is the part though.

I have these on all my wheels and have them on my new Vorsteiners too.

265/35 is meaty! Will probably throw off your speedo.

I’m not sure where you’re pulling your numbers but it’s inaccurate at least from what I’m running. Michelin PS4S 265/30’s are 94Y load rating and XL. (4 x 1,477 = 5,908 lbs.) That’s enough for the whole family AND a few big girls!

They have black and silver too if you run a search on that site.
    Thank you sir.

This is my allroad. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Damnit! I totally missed a great opportunity, but it was only 25 so.... probably a good thing. Haha

So, I debated for a long while on whether or not I should start a new thread titled "I bought another another another allroad" or just add onto what Eric already has documented here. In the interest of helping current and future allroad owners find information more easily and keeping the history of this car in one place, I'm just going to hijack Eric's thread. Starting now:

If you're not familiar with me and my stupid obsession with allroads, please visit these threads first:

    1. I bought an allroad.
    2. I bought another allroad
I also owned a 2018 A4 allroad for a minute, but 2020 turned into 2020 and I ended up selling it when it became an expensive garage ornament that wasn't being driven. Nice car, though. Shortly before selling the 2018, I bought an old Jeep to keep me entertained.

The Jeep was my pandemic project and for a while was my only car. Once it started looking like I'd be moving back into my office (rather than working from home), it was time to start looking for a decent daily driver. I didn't plan on getting into another allroad, but the timing worked out well for both of Eric and myself, so I flew to Pennsylvania in early April and drove it home to Minnesota over the next 17-ish hours. This is my 4th allroad and my 10th Audi. Apparently I am stuck in a rut.

The first order of business was to install a CarPlay unit from RSNav because I can't go back to a car without CarPlay now. Even my old Jeep has it.

Next, I got my roof box repainted to match the new car.

For anyone wondering, the RSNav install was not easy, but it went in without any issues. It took about 5 hours from start to finish, but I could probably do it quicker a second time around.

The phone mount is a combination of a Rennline mount and a Spigen MagSafe mount from Amazon and an Apple MagSafe charger.

Overall I'm very happy with how it turned out. The 10.25" screen is about the same size as the factory screen in my B9 allroad, but it doesn't stick out of the dash as tall. The next thing on the list is a black headliner swap and a set of flush roof rails from a B8 Avant while the headliner is out. Future plans include finding a set of carbon fiber interior trim and probably a few sets of wheels, of course.

Bonus pic with my previous blue allroad and another local buddy:
