    Thoughts?

I have a UM tune, ko4, nothing should have been deleted or hard passed by the software, and still got flagged, now I am preparing my ass for a beating by the state because MA inspections suck!

It just failed me because my computer has been tampered with. Its an auto fail even though every single system is functioning properly on the car.

I called UM, they will retune my car with no systems set to automatically pass which I believe is why I failed.

You can thank VW for this one.

More and more States are changing how they check for emissions readiness. Instead of just checking readiness they are also resetting the readiness codes. Anything that has been written out will still show as ready even after the reset. For example, if you have a test pipe with the catalytic converter written out the cat will still show as passing even after the reset. Consequently you will fail the test.

Ding ding ding. If you have all systems installed on the car as they should be and UM can retune to remove the forced passes, you will be fine. I've had to go through the MAC, it's not that bad. As long as your ECU gives them the answers they want, they'll let you pass.

Good to know. I am getting reflashed early next week by UM. I know all the systems are working on the car and are probably just coded to auto-pass. We will see.

    Thanks Agart.

As far as I know, not yet. I had to go in for emissions the first week of December and passed. I am running an 034 HFC but I had it written out since the 034 cat can be hit or miss with a P0420.

Massachusetts has been doing this for a few years. RI hasn't changed it yet, so for now thats the reaason my car's registered to my parents home address.

Like Old Guy said, the computer can see if readiness codes have been disabled or written out. Times are a changin' unfortunately, but I've still got my test pipe in haha.

Im going to see if the retune and the o2 spacer I have will get me through emissions. If not, I may need to put a HFC in the car. Between an hfc and the o2 spacer I shouldnt have any issues.
