    B&O Sound System

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My 2013 S5 was purchased with 23,000 miles on it in April. B&O sounds great until I got a loaner a 2016 Audi A4 with B&O as well and it sounds 2x better. More bass and no rattling of panels.

Has anyone been able to get the dealer under warranty find a way to prevent rattling of the speakers in the panels due to loud music with deep bass...I was surprised by the difference but maybe by luck the sound file I was playing was high quality..Is there a TSB?

I would have never believed 2 cars with the B+O system could sound so different. Mine was incredible compared to my mates in his R8!

But get them speakers out and put decent ones in, ripping all mine out in the new year after getting inside the Alpine show car the other month.

Is it a sound deadening thing or are there improved 'versions' of B&O speakers on the most current models? What's the TSB specifically?

It has to do with the rear deck rattling, they should fix any rattles inn the car as long as you're in the warranty period.

You can't compare an Audi 5 series to and R8 when it comes to sound quality!

The R8 is designed to be light weight so any sound system will also have been on a diet, it also has minimal space to install a good system and the engine whose sound will destroy acoustics is right behind your head. The 5 is a big coupe with lots of space, weight isn't an issue so you can put in some good speakers in the right locations and the engine is hidden behind sound proofing miles away from you. Simply no comparison at all, it's like saying my maybach rides better than my skateboard.

oh right ok lol :) Didn't think about that but we were just sitting in my drive way when comparing as he coudnlt believe the difference between mine and his when we were out in my car so we then got in his and it was a big difference. But neither of us thought about that, weight saving.

I do wonder though if they are different speakers, wonder what the part numbers would say. I will mention that to him and one of his mates is a master tech at Southend Audi so he could check that as even he didn't mention what you say which makes sense :)

Anyone get this TSB done and know what was done? Seems like clips or sound deadening would be the 'fix'.

Do it yourself. Mine wasn't rattling till I put a sub box in the boot then it went mad as I know have good bass. Used some Dynamat and jobs a good un, no more rattles :) I still have the B+O sub powered too.

Mine will be done in January one they receive they parts. According to my service adviser he told me that both arm rests, and the trunk deck lid is done as a whole package with this TSB. Basically, if you come in and complain about any rattling with any of those parts that the full work is completed at the time so that you won't be back for the other 2 items. He mentioned that it involves new clips, felt tape, different glue... We'll see if it fixes my arm rest rattle once it's done.
