It's been a little while since I made any updates, so here's what I've been up to.

I had a very annoying and horrible creaking sound coming from my front driver side wheel. Turned out the upper strut bearing committed suicide, which apparently is a moderately common theme for them on our cars. So I picked up this "heavy duty" upper strut mount kit from ECS and had the nice gents at 034 install it for me yesterday. Presto! My car no longer sounds like it's in pain when making the slightest movement on the wheel. I do however still have a popping-esk sound once in a while, but that existed previously and I'm pretty sure it's related to my Spulen front end links being maxed out.

I bought some ecodes off of ebay.de using the help of Google Translate (employer plug ) and then waited a month for them to clear customs. Installation was a breeze and the car looks infinitely better. I always thought the ecodes loooked better in pictures, but having them on the car in person is even better.

Round 2 on the StopTech kit went swimmingly. Install took about 4 hours from tear down to wrapping the bleeding. 30 mins to clean up the bay that I rented at the DIY garage (I live in a city and have no garage or even driveway) as well as clean up the OEM kit. Bedding process probably took another 30-45 mins or so...I wasn't really paying attention to how much time I spent driving around between cycles. So all-in-all about 5 hours which I think is pretty good seeing as I've only ever installed half a brake kit previously. Pedal feel is greatly improved and initial bite is far better. I didn't really have any fade problems at Laguna but I also wasn't breaking as deep as I could/should have been. Stretched all-seasons kinda of force you to scale it back a notch or two. Once I get a set of dedicated track wheels and R compounds I plan on giving the kit a good trial by fire...but without an actual fire, that would be terrifying...and expensive.

Now to figure out what to do with the NA spec LEDs and the OEM brake kit. Also, I just posted my original set of Rotiform's for sale...someone go buy them as it's a great deal for that set of wheels.

I've rambled enough, here's the only thing I know you all care about anyways...pictures. :-P Oddly enough the only close up I took of the wheel/brake set up ended up being blurry, so I'll have to go back and get another one. You win some, you lose some.

The DUS wouldn't clear the StopTech's. It was unfortunate because they were only a few months old. This is what happens when you don't initially plan to get a BBK, buy wheels, and then change your mind. Shit happens and my impulsive decisions will eventually be someone else's gain. Haha.

Thank you sir! The color is a Rotiform specific color called "Candy Black"...but really it's just a black chrome, so you could likely get any wheel finished in a similar finish.

I've since added the Pure CF spoiler from ED as well as all the under the hood CF bits from 034. I've got Dinan's piggyback Sport module waiting to install after my 15k service. Also waiting on Dinan to get their production exhaust systems in so I can head back down there for the install.

I'm pretty sure once I install the Sport module and get a taste of a decent bump in power I'm going to just want to tune the damn thing...so I've been looking at EuroDyne and Unitronic stage 1.5/1+ as well as DSG tunes. Also waiting to hear back from Rotiform on some ideas I have for refinishing my wheels. If refinish ideas aren't possible then I might be in the market for a new set. I'm secretly hoping the refinishing isn't possible so I have a "legit" excuse to buy new wheels. Got my eyes on a two sets from ADV1 and Avant Garde. We'll have to see what shakes out. New things coming soon!

Thanks for the feedback and sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. I'm willing to sacrifice some of that initial rush if it pulls harder through the rest of the range.

Now with more bass.

Drive back from Dinan's headquarters was pretty good and much noisier , though not as loud as I expected (which is not a bad thing at all). Mostly highway cruising between 70-90 but got a few suburban side streets and stop lights where I could test different scenarios. Definitely has a lot more bass to it than previously. Much more of a throaty sound and the DSG shifts sound fantastic now. The tips look huge from the back, but that's pretty much how every aftermarket system I've seen look. From the side or the 3/4 profile they look perfect. They're potentially going to make some CF tips in the semi-near future, which I'm sure would look awesome.

At highway cruising speed there is the slightest bit of drone in the cabin. It's a non-resonated cat-back system so I'm not entirely surprised by that. The cabin insulation in our cars also isn't the greatest so again, not entirely surprised by that. I already had a couple rolls of Dynamat that I was planning to install in the trunk (and maybe a few other places) and have just been putting off. I'm confident that after installing the Dynamat I won't notice a thing. There's actually a fair amount of cabin noise on my car right now period, mainly because of the roof rack and snowboard carriers. Curious how much insulation is under the headliner...but that's a story and job for another day.

Non-valved. Not sure if they plan to make a valved option.

Yup, Dinan made exhaust. They're getting into the Audi game (along with a few other auto manufacturers). They used my car for R&D for the system. So far I'm pretty happy with it. It's not too loud and adds a nice amount of bass and growl to the sound. Happy to meet up so you can hear it. Maybe we can take some photos of our cars together.

The spoiler is from Emmanuele Design and I'm very happy with the quality and the look of it. It doesn't jump out at you on a black car which, like you said, is good (IMHO). It's the only exterior CF part that I have for the time being. Been thinking about getting a lip, but pretty sure that would just get ripped off during one of my many trips to Tahoe...so probably not going to happen.

So I've had a couple rolls of Dynamat collecting dust in my closet for a few months now and with the recent exhaust addition it's definitely a bit louder in the cabin than previous (which was also pretty noisy). To keep the GF happy I'm going to apply it to the top of the trunk as well as the spare tire area (and maybe even the wheel wells if I'm feeling like an over achiever). For those of you that have done sound dampening previously I have a question. There are numerous holes in the top of the trunk that I was considering stuffing insulation inside of before going over the hole with the Dynamat. What type of insulation would you recommend stuffing up there?
