After reading all of these threads about stripped/helicoiled intake threads, I was so paranoid about it, I removed the bolts and reinstalled them with anti-sieze - which I should have done in the first place.
Anti-seize is a good idea for these intake bolts. I actually popped the threads out of another one tightening it back up. At the rate I'm going I'll have the entire head helicoiled by the end of the summer.

Being that I am in Kuwait for 2 more weeks, I have nothing to do when I am off. I think I have already read 1/4 of it and a lot of linked threads in it...

BUY THE B12 PRO KIT THEY SAID. IT'S NOT THAT LOW THEY SAID

Changed my oil last night at like midnight. Gashed my finger open on some sharp-ass threads and didn't realize it. Was screwing on my new oil filter, couldn't get any grip and was like "What's all this slippery red goo all over everything?

Then I helped Zacharooni fix a boost leak today using Briguy's VAG-COM cable he lent out to me. After that we both listened to a noise my car is making and came to the conclusion that 'it doesn't sound good'.

Here are some hella dope shots of the whip.

One of the filters he ran in-line with his boost gauge vacuum line was broken in half for some reason. We did some logging and it was hitting somewhere close to full boost so it was a pretty small leak, but since it was the line to his boost gauge it was only reading like 10 PSI. And then during one of our logging runs it just cut out completely and was showing 0 vacuum/boost. So we saw that and were like, well it's gotta be something with the boost gauge line. Popped the cowl cover off and bam, the filter housing was cracked in half.

Lol! Sometimes I wish I just went stock OEM sport suspension.... Sometimes. Was thinking of changing it and changing out sway bars and links as I noticed the bumps became more pronounced even with stock suspension when I first started modding.

Yeah I'll see what I can do. My cell phone is pretty bad at picking up car noises though and it's more noticeable from inside the cabin than the engine bay for some reason. I should have taken a vid when Zach was here to rev it up for me.

I suggested to him today that it might be a water pump. Is it from that area?

I was thinking that yesterday because I know the pump is belt driven, When you mentioned that I brought it up to him but he had replaced the pump fairly recently.

Thanks. It's just my driveway, the car's even all around. It's also never getting tinted. Not my style.

Thanks man. It's a struggle for sure, but it's so worth it. Pretty much every car I've ever owned (and will own) has been black.

    And I used this stuff:

Put it out on the driveway in the hot sun for a good 30 minutes before starting and it was nice and gooey. Did it all by hand in about an hour.

Been noticing lately that my car hasn't had the get-up-and-go it once had. I've just been attributing it to the 80-90 dagree days we've been having but today it was feeling extra sluggish. Then I start noticing this whooshing noise whenever I started hitting boost. Now I'm thinking I must have a boost leak. So I pull my car in the garage and go hunting. Then I come across the cap where my sound box used to be:

It was barely hanging on when I got to it, I was able to pull the tip right off with almost no effort. I'm guessing that under vacuum it was sucked shut so it didn't affect driveability at all, but when hitting boost it'd pop open and start letting all my precious boost escape into the atmosphere, undoing all the hard work my turbo was doing. So I replaced it with another one and the lettuce mobile feels like a whole new car again.

@blbroo I heard on the grapevine that you had this exact same problem. I'm thinking it's at least partly due to the meth eating away at the rubber from the post-IC nozzle we're running. Were you able to come up with a better solution? I figure this'll buy me another couple months at least, but would like a more permanent solution before it starts happening again.

Mine did the same thing. I tried a harder plastic cap, but it didn't seal 100%. I'm going to pick up a rubber drain / boat plug and double up the blockage power, tomorrow

Crazy idea, but, could fill the soundbox and hose with something, then reinstall it

Nice, keep me updated. I'm going to take a trip to the hardware store sometime soon and see what I can McGuyver up. I'll keep you updated as well if I come across a good solution.

Try cutting the neck off and use repair wrap: http://www.homedepot.com/p/1-in-x-1-...4006/204400319

Holds up to 60 PSI so it should work.

Im not sure about the location of your problem but i know more or less about the sound box,

I removed this sound box with this: https://www.3zero3motorsports.com/st...t-b8-2-0t-audi

will this fix your issue? i am concerned now since I also have W/M

Edit: I also got this set of hoses installed: https://www.3zero3motorsports.com/st...t-b8-2-0t-audi

    So here's a thing.

Since I started mixing my own water/meth, the level sensor in my stock washer tank hasn't been working. It always displays the "Low Washer Fluid" message on my dash. So my initial thought was "Okay, it probably can't stand up to high concentrations of methanol and shit the bed. That's weird since low-temp washer fluid has methanol in it but whatever". They're like $4 each and just pop in and out in about 5 minutes, so I didn't put much thought into it and ordered one and replaced it yesterday. No change, still displays the low fluid light on the dash.

So now I go into full Agent Moulder investigation mode on this thing. What could be wrong? It worked with regular washer fluid, it worked with winter time washer fluid, it worked with Snow Performance Boost Juice, but now it doesn't work with my own water/meth mix. Then bam, a fucking 200 watt light bulb blasts on in my head. This is the level sensor for our cars:

They work by the fluid in the tank completing the circuit between those two electrodes. When the fluid level drops low enough to not cover both electrodes, the circuit breaks and it throws a low fluid light. Normal water conducts electricity due to the ions it contains, but distilled water contains no such ions, and therefor does not conduct electricity. Same thing with methanol. No ions, no conductivity. So the level sensor works just fine, just not with the non-conductive liquids I'm filling my tank with.

This now begs the question, why does my mixture of pure methanol and distilled water not work with this level sensor, but Snow's Boost Juice works just fine? Their website clearly states the content is 51% distilled water and 49% methanol. This shouldn't work with our level sensors. Methinks they're either not using distilled water, or there's some kind of additive that contains ions (those dirty things like sodium, calcium, magnesium etc that cause all that nasty buildup on the inside of your meth lines/nozzles) in order to introduce conductivity into the mixture.

So now I have to find a way to incorporate a sensor that will work with my own proprietary mix into my stock washer tank. Either that or start adding a teaspoon of salt into each batch.

Lettuce is more of a DIY guy.

If you want something cleaner than my original idea you could probably fit a silicone sleeve over it after trimming as well.

Holds up to 60 PSI so it should work.
This is a pretty cool idea, Andrew. Might be a tough area to get a smooth wrap around, but worth a look.

I was thinking of something like that. Like Gooping and then super gluing/JB welding/melting a piece of heavy plastic over it.

A new intake pipe without that giant hole in it would certainly eliminate the need for a brittle rubber plug. That first one would probably work, as long as I can still mount my methanol pump to that bracket that hangs off of it. The second one would sort of work, I just wouldn't be able to use half the kit since the turbo to IC hose needs that turbo muffler delete/adapter thing which increases the hose diameter on the turbo outlet. The F23L doesn't have a removable outlet there.

Impressive! You mean a company would lie about their product?? Blasphemy!

Would adding another chemical hurt the potency of the mixture? I would suggest replacing the sensor with a simple float sensor like such!

I'm sure the resistances would differ between the two but I think it might be doable.

I actually have one that came with the Snow kit:

Like you said it might not play nice out of the box with the ECU, but I should be able to break out the voltmeter and rig something up to make it work.

Why not just plug the hole in your washer reservoir and switch to the Snow tank? Just have to find a place to mount the dang thing.
