Unrelated to my boost problem, my window regulator finally died out. Had time to replace it tonight

Also learned that my car has aftermarket pioneer speakers that were totally rigged in...

Also the sound deadening material was duck taped in... Ended up putting it back in that way lol

Received my package from JHM today, which I ordered before getting the tune.
    - oil change kit,
    - cat gaskets for my 034 hfc, which I don't even know if I can install because of the tune...
    - 034 street density density line motor mounts coupled with a poly snub mount.

    Update on the overboosting issue:
-Went back to the forge DV because the OEM DV I have is throwing the p0299 underboost code.
-Tried changing the n75 like Jake said... No luck.
-Think I'm going to go back to Excelerate or a performance shop near me to get the wastegate adjusted. I boost at 14 and spike 17 in stock so I think my issue is right there.

When I did all of that I got around to changing my oil and installed the snub mount. Definitely can feel a difference, cannot wait to put the density line mounts in!

Then the other day my brakes started squealing... So the proper thing to do is upgrade! Bought these drilled and slotted rotors off of r1concepts. Very affordable, good reviews. My friend has them on his Infiniti G37xs so I decided to go the same route for only $300 shipped.

Also bought new control arms and wiper blades from fcpeuro! The control arms for $80 were a no brainer especially for having great reviews.

Now I realllllly need to find time to do all of this. Working full time isn't as fun as I thought

Update (idk if anyone actually reads... This has become my own car diary )

Had time to install the 034 High Flow cat with my friends, what a royal pain in the ass. Never want to do that again. Overall the sound improved and I definitely feel a little more pep when I accelerate.

So the overboosting problem is resolved. The wastegate wasn't adjusted properly, so Speedsport Tuning in Danbury CT took care of it for the most part. Then it still needed some fine tuning and I decided to just do the rest as they couldn't take my car back until after the Fourth of July.

My friend Ryan installed the drilled and slotted brakes. The stopping power achieved is unbelievable. Definitely worth the money! R1Concepts definitely delivered with an affordable price to top it off.

Went to a car show this past weekend and also shot with my friend Ian.

    Photos from the shoot

And here's some miscellaneous photos from various photographers at the show. FlyMeet 2.0: Stance by the Sea

Also had time to tackle my suspension shake and clunk. Only did the passenger side and wow what a difference. Started by changing the control arms to the ones from FCP Euro. The old bushings were clearly destroyed.

Also changed the hi hat on my suspension. Went from the right one to the left. Decided to leave the OEM setup

Figured that the little white spacer needed to be snug in the hi hat, opposed to it being loose in the old one. Dremeled the middle out.

    All done

Now all that's left is to fix the drivers side and install my 034 Density Line motor mounts!!!

Some great pictures from the show. I'm glad to see you didn't bail on the car. I think the work you're doing now will solve your problems. Keep us updated.

Minor shake no more clunk. I think I need an alignment but that's really it. Also I am throwing these codes now

    P0089
    P2293
    P0299

Not sure why. Happened with the tune on. Things might not be keeping up with the added performance

So last night I finally finished off my box of parts and installed the 034 motor mounts with my buddy John

I'm slowly bringing this old girl back to life. Just a little more TLC and ill be able to get back to performance modding.

That motor mount was totally shot. Glad I replaced them and wow it made a world of difference

Just a couple old things that came off the car in the last few weeks

    More blogging to myself...

Bought a Techtonics Tuning exhaust after a long time with the OEM one after replacing the OBX catback. This should go well with the 034 High Flow Cat.

Also bought a new fuel filter, high pressure fuel sensor, low pressure fuel sensor, and diverter valve in hopes of removing the check engine light and getting my car to run properly again. Fingers crossed that I get away cheap!

Jake@JHM told me to go back to stock so this is up for grabs. I have a for sale thread.

Also have a JHM front mount inter cooler on the way which I'm really excited for!

    More updates later...

I didn't really take any pictures but when I was taking my HFC off of the manifold I snapped a stud... Which left me to hours and hours of annoying work just to fix it.

Anyway I got the exhaust on here's some uninteresting pictures

Also one of my exhaust hangars was messed up and I was too frustrated to change it so I just did this.

Then my JHM front mount came in the other day and I got it on yesterday

Also tried to fix my ac and changed the g65 thrust sensor when i had my bumper off

So when my buddy went to clear the ac code he just scanned the car. A vw tech was nearby and heard us talking and he was saying there's way more issues with it than I think and I'm stumped where to even turn to to tackle some of these problems. He had told me to shut the tune off and baby the car so I may be parting ways with the JHM tune if I can't get my car to keep up with it.

If anyone is reading this please shed some light

The idle didn't change at all, there were still codes but there was some time between the last scan and this scan. The new ones are the knock sensor codes.

Here's the last scan, date is around July 13

Thanks for the feedback and kind words everyone!

I think I'm leaning towards the CCV, I would do the CBQ but I couldn't make it have a 3-4 lip with how it's designed

Who else has been hoarding through the winter? Here's my collection of things below that aren't all pictured

    JHM FMIC
    JHM DP-Y
    034 HFC
    034 Catch Can
    APR HPFP
    OEM S4 Exhaust
Silicon Turbo Inlet pipe w/ Spectre filter
    Cuprazilla Lip
    CSR Side Skirts
    Duraflex Window Spoiler
    OEM S-Line trunk lid

And I have to of course order my Rotiform CCV's and get a tune...

Debating on going Unitronic this time around. I had JHM Stage 1 on my black B7 but I was boosting 30 psi as soon as I got it so I shut it off. I was troubleshooting it with them and never resolved my issue before just selling the car.

I adjusted my wastegate like they said which just caused more issues and I tried fixing all sorts of sensors but never really resolved it...

Soooooo yeah I'm really hesitant to go JHM again since I'm not willing to shell out $600 just to get burned again.

Videos of my old B7 below

This is before I adjusted the wastegate or anything

After adjusting the wastegate I had this miserable problem

With the tune off I could barely boost over 5 psi soooo I just adjusted it to how it was and never used the tune.

Can't really figure out why my car didn't take well to it but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also my girlfriend got me these puddle lights

Time for me to be an indecisive little b**** for a little... Excuse my rant.

So I got the dtm bumper with the CF splitter and I got CF relaks to match.

Now here's where I'm torn. I have the cuprazilla and its really a nice piece. I'm trying to decide if it's worth cutting the ends off so it fits in the groove where the dtm splitter goes. Personally, I think it'll look better than the dtm splitter.

Now, since I have carbon fiber accessories to accent the car, I'm probably going to wrap any chrome trim in a carbon fiber wrap or wrap it dark grey.

Since that's my plan, I'm trying to decide if I should change the finish of my wheels from polished lips matte silver faces, to this.

    Faces

    Lips

Imo I'm leaning towards that because it's much easier to match 2 colors than it is 3

    Let me know your thoughts.

Do it. I have been considering picking up the CF Cupra R lip from spoon fed and customizing it to fit my DTM as well. I'd like to see a little more aggressive lip to go with the DTM.

Just remember they are disposable. I've already busted my DTM lip but that's because San Francisco's grading out of driveways is super fucked. But if youre doing bags I'd just jack it up whenever I'm in trouble.

My thoughts exactly! The dtm lip is not aggressive at all. Very subtle imo

I have bags so that's no concern to me. I snapped my cupra r lip but that's because I was driving off of the highway to get out and stretch and the shoulder was very unforgiving (bumpy as all hell and I was going too fast)

What do you both think about my finish options?

I probably will. I'll measure it all up and go from there.

Trying to decide a wheel finish. I've been having such a struggle for so long

Those wheels are freaking nice and I dont know if anyone told you already but all ours cars have duct tape on the top of the door to hold the sound deadening material. Hard to believe but it come from the factory like that lol

So I fit the cuprazilla to the DTM bumper. Just rested the bumper on top of it.

    Thoughts?

Also I have to cut the back end of the cuprazilla so it fits into the little groove where the dtm splitter goes. Has anyone had any experience cutting carbon fiber? Or any tip to make it not look cheesy without cutting the lip?

You need a tungsten carbide cuting wheel. But please dont cut it imo lol Use a dtm splitter
