    These are all parts for 3G and I got the part numbers from the links above. I didn't want Audi Connect.

    Time to clean the tips up after 5 years of abuse. I just used a micro fiber cloth but next time I'll be using a polisher that attaches to a drill.

    It did all lights in the cabin besides the floor lights since they are LED's already and I did the trunk also. I have to extra left from ordering a pack of each bulbs from the links.

    Bang & Olufsen = 9VK
    Audi Symphony System (Active sound, with amp in trunk) = 9VD
    Audi System (Passive sound, without amp in trunk, center speaker and subwoofer) = 8RX

    The speaker wires that go to the amp are the only wires you will need to pin and the colors are in German on the instruction papers. Here is a simplified version. The White/Red Power and Brown Ground are the only pins that can be reused and the others will have to be cut and repinned. If you take a bobby pin and cut the little round ends off and stick both ends into the slots around the connector block on the female side they will pop out separately.

    Component Protection Removal At The Dealer: Paid: $130 (Get the radio serial number and the VIN of the car it came from, bring that to the dealer. Minor VCDS coding will be needed like enabling the radio's internal amplifier and depending on how the MMI unit was coded to begin with and that should be it)

    Activating Radio Amp:
    You probably won't have sound and the Audi tech will probably say there is an issue somewhere and he can't take the protection off. All you have to do, change the 8th digit in the long coding with VCDS under Radio and it's good to go. For example, I have radio model 4G0 035 082 G radio unit, changing it from the default 020007010000000001 to 020007020000000001. This removed the dedicated amp coding from your old setup to the new setup.

    How To See The A/C Controlls On The MMI Screen Again:
    Address 08: Byte 01, Bit 4 (air-conditioning setting in MMI)

    Well it looks like you'll need that D extension to hook your old antenna back up. Have you researched the forms on people who had GPS but are upgrading? I'm sure they have pictures showing the same as you.

    I actually bought a GPS from kufatec and mounted it on the bottom of the dash behind the glovebox. Sorry I cant be more help. The good thing about the fakra connectors is that they are colour coded which should make it easy to identify which one to use.

    Not yet. I did my looking around and ordering for the last week so I'm still waiting to get all the parts in the mail. I can't wait, its driving me crazy. Lol

    Well, I've put way to much work into this car over the years to get rid of it so I just went ahead and bought the stuff to do the 3G upgrade. So far this car has never given me an issue in the 5 years of driving the crap out of it. I will take donations for paying the upfront taxes/registration, yearly taxes and insurance for it though. But honestly I sat down and looked into S4's and RS4's again last night and I think I will keep this car as a daily driver and get a 2008 RS4 and make that into my track car. I've been looking into S4's and RS4's for years and I'm 99% sure this is what I want to do now.

    If you have AUX, you have a 3.5mm headphone jack in the armrest. If you have an iphone connector in the glove box, you have AMI.



    This cable is needed since the satellite connector is originally connected to the symphony radio. The new radio relocated in the tunk needs the connection again so here is the cable. The green connector on the back of the new 3G MMI cd player is for the backup camera. The cable says TV but it will work for the Sat so don't worry.

    It wasn't bad at all for me, I have the keys to remove the AMI unit and get that last screw and it was off easy. This install went faster than I thought and I love it!

    Yeah I also had to use a ratchet so it took a little bit. I just hope installing it is just as easy as it was taking off.

    Yea, luckily I had radio removal keys from my b6 the AMI unit came out easy but my screw driver was too long to get the top 8mm bolts out so I had to use a ratchet
